Questioning Jaclyn
On my way to Jaclyn's home her words from the day of Marie's funeral raced through my mind.
"Jason, come on. What's done is done and we can't change it."
Now that I think about it, everyone of Jaclyn's actions screamed guilty. I parked my car and cut the engine. Judging by the other three and how upset they were, it only made sense that Jaclyn would be in pieces too. I made my way up to Jaclyn's front door and knocked. Jaclyn answered the door. Her face fell and fear entered her hazel eyes.
"I'm Detective Bryan Samuels and I'm here to ask you few questions about Marie's murder." I stated bluntly.
Her face paled and tears surfaced.
"Detective, you must understand that..." Her voice cracked and she bowed her head and cried.
"Understand what?"
"I wasn't just me who was at the house with Marie."
"Who else was with you?"
"Jason's best friend Jackson. He stumbled in, drunk and...." She stopped.
"And what?" I basically yelled at her.
"He gave me the idea to k-kill her. Said he'd help. Said that Jason deserved better than that slutty Marie."
Jaclyn dropped to her knees and sobbed loudly.
"Beth and Laken said that you envied Marie. They said that she had the one thing you couldn't. Who or what was it?"
"J-J-Jason." She sobbed.
"Did Jackson rape Marie?"
"Y-yes."
I turned away without another word to the girl. Killed her friend over a boy, how pathetic.
