LISA POV
Well, this is it—my final day here before I start being the manager at the new place tomorrow. Timothy helped me pack some stuff before I left. We found a place in Youngrowe where I can stay for the time being, well, at least until I get back here.
"Okay, is that it," Timothy said.
"Yep, that's everything," I said. "Wow, I can't believe I'm actually doing this."
"You excited," he asked.
"And also a bit nervous," I added.
Finally, I got into the car and started the engine.
"You sure you will house sit my house for the time being," I asked Timothy.
"Yep, I promise not to break anything," he replied.
"And what about your apartment," I asked.
"My sister is house sitting it," he replied.
Before I took off, I rolled down my window and gave one last goodbye to Timothy. I won't see him for a while.
"By babe," I kissed him.
"By babe," he replied. "I love you."
"I love you too *wink*
I put on a pouty face after he winked.
"I'm just joking, Lisa; you should know this," he teased me.
"I know, I know," I chuckled.
"Alright, I love you," he kissed me on the forehead before I took off to Youngrowe.
4 HOURS LATER
As the sun was setting, I was finally approaching Youngrowe. It was a long way to get here, but I was able to do so. The GPS took me to the place I was going to stay for the time being. A hotel, specifically for work, you can stay in it for at least a year. Anyway, I checked into my hotel and finally entered my room. Wow, already not one step in, and I could tell that this room was better than my house. It had everything essential and planned for someone who would work, well, anything. It was already dark out, and well, I needed to get up early and open up the place. I went to the bathroom, washed up, brushed my teeth, changed my clothes, and headed out. My phone was set on the alarm, and I went into bed and turned off the lights.
"You got this," I breathed in and out.
THE NEXT DAY
Opening day has arrived; I set out the chairs and opened the blinds. I made sure our kitchen was intact.
"So, how does it feel to be the new manager," someone said behind me.
I turn around and see Jisoo; It looks like she transferred here too.
"Jisoo," I hugged her. "I didn't know you were going to be here."
"I'm so excited for the new place to open up; you ready," she asked.
"Uhh...I'm still a bit nervous," I said.
In the background, we could hear the other employees chatter, almost opening time.
"I think they need you," Jisoo said, and she pulled me out of the kitchen.
When Jisoo and I entered the main dining area, the attention was turned to me. My body was shaking a bit, the pressure knowing that I would have the most responsibility from now on.
"Uhh....hello, my name is Lisa, I will be the new manager her the new cafe," I said.
I kept glancing over and Jisoo occasionally, and all she did was give me a "keep talking to them, not me" face.
"So, I used to work at the old location, but I've been relocated here, and now here I am. We will be a great team, and I hope that I will get to know each of you one at a time," I said. "Any questions," I said before we all took off. "Okay, then let's open up."
I turned on the sign, and the cafe was now officially open.
A COUPLE HOURS LATER
Finally, the day was done. Like the other cafe, this one was just as busy. But at least the place was bigger, more space for customers. Anyway, the day was done, and we closed down shop for tonight. I locked the cafe up and headed back to the hotel. When I got back, the receptionist called me.
"Oh, Ms. Manoban," the receptionist said.
"Yes," I replied.
"I have a letter for you," she handed me the letter.
"Oh, thank you," I said.
When I got back into my room, I set my things down and opened up the letter. It was from home; I recognized the address.
Dear Lisa,
I hope you had a good first opening day at the new cafe. I miss you already. I love you so much.
From, Timothy
It was Timothy, we wrote back. I should probably write back to let him know I'm okay.
