In 1943 bucky is captured during an operation against Hydra and used by the scientist Arnim Zola as an experimental project because everyone thinks he is dead and no one is looking for his corpse. In the HYDRA base, Y/N and bucky do not meet because they are in two different ones. Since Zola doesn't find anything about bucky that shows that he could have the same powers, he makes him seem dead and freezes him, but he has the super soldier serum he can neither die nor age, both Y/N are put on ice like her brother, they can't die either.
Finally, rogers fights 1945 against Red Skull on his bomber, with which he tries to completely destroy the entire east coast of the USA.
