Lucas's Ultimatum

Test Preparation

Welp, didn't really expect this. And what I mean is that I broke out of my little rhythm. The way I write this story is a bit odd. I write a chapter, then I proofread it. However, then I write the next chapter and proofread both. Then I upload the first one. Essentially, by the time I publish a chapter, the next one is already written. This time is different. I want to see if it's truly worth proofreading it twice. So, yeah, imma change things up and hopefully I can get chapters our more consistently and faster this way.

September 29th 20xx

"Alright, class. Nearly a full month into school, and we'll finally be having our first major test," Byleth announced to the displeasure of everyone else in the class. "This Friday. Better be prepared."

Later that day, during lunch, the boys were once again at Kawamama. Ness swallowed his bite and looked around at the group. "So, about that test...."

"I HATE IT!!!" Ana yelled. She slumped forward and laid her upper body on the table as she continued whining.

"What about it?" Mega Man asked.

"Well.....I was gonna ask if y'all wanted to study together."

"Pfft, imagine wanting to study," Toon Link laughed off Ness's proposition. Ness sort of took offense to this. He crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, that's a stupid question?"

"Very stupid. Like any of us would be studying."

"I will be...." Mega Man said as he was already beginning his studies. "I just prefer to do it alone...." Ness held up a cocky smirk.

"Whatever, I'm getting some ice cream, wanna come Villa?"

"Sure!" Villager said excitedly. The two of them walked off to go buy ice cream. Ness looked at Lucas.

"Wanna study?" he asked. Lucas smiled.

"Sure," Lucas smiled, which made Ness smile. Ness looked out at the others.

"Anyone joining us? Claus? Ninten?" Claus and Ninten shook their heads and mentioned that they were going to study together. However, Young Link and Ana vowed to join the two boys. "Alright. We can study at my place."

"Your place?"

"Mhm, I'll just come to pick you up," Ness said, patting Lucas's back, which Lucas wouldn't admit felt pretty good. Claus crossed his arms and glared into Ness's soul. Ness returned this glare, but Claus's glare was 1,000 times stronger and more effective. "What?"

"You better be just studying," Claus strictly said.

"Of course, what else would we even do?" Claus's eyes darted toward Lucas, who was clueless. Lucas was way too wholesome and unaware of this type of stuff to learn it all in this way. Claus, being a bit too overprotective, even to his own standards, kept Lucas away from any sexual news, he even lied to his parents that Lucas already had "The Talk". Lucas knew how babies were made, but that was the extent of it. He knew nothing else. He didn't even know what the act of "Babymaking" was actually called.

Claus moved his eyes away from both of them. "Just....you better behave yourselves. All of you."

"Claus, you'll never get over this protective side of you, huh?"

"When I have a brother as careless as you, of course, I won't ever not be protective."

"So heroic," Ninten said as he batted his eyes toward Claus.
