A/N- Marinette sits where Lila would have sat. Alya sits in Chloé and Sabrina's spot and vise versa.
"Marinette! It's the first day of school! Are you up?" A small Asian woman who was working in a little kitchen yells out. "Yeah I'm up Sabine," a bored tone is heard in response. The older woman smiles happily and calls back "Alright Tom made some macarons for your class!," "Geez Sabine no need to yell I'm right here." A voice call from right behind her. The shorter of the two jumps on response.
"Marinette!!" She scolds the young teen who only lightly laughs in return. "You look nice dear," Sabine says looking the girl up and down. She is wearing a black skater skirt, a dark red halter top covered with a dark denim jacket, and black high tops with dark red laces. Her hair is in a high ponytail with hair left out to frame her face. For accessories, she has two small ladybug pins on the collar of her jacket and a chain hanging off her hip held by a paw print clip.
"Thanks," she gives a causal smile. Sabine takes a look at the bag in her hands. "I love what you did to your backpack" Marinette lets out a careless smile "Thanks I ironed on the print and the pins I just ordered online. Anyway, you said Tom had something for me?" Marinette asks as Sabine continues in doing the dishes. "Yes dear, some macarons for your classmates." Marinette only nods not bothering with a verbal response. She munches on a croissant while watching the time before heading to the lower level of the building. "See you later!" Marinette calls out "Bye Sweet girl!" Sabine calls out.
"Hey, Tom" the teen calls out to the towering giant. Startled the big man yelps and drops a cookie box luckily Marinette was able to catch them. "*fake cough* Oh hello Marinette, there was something in my throat. How did you sleep" Said girl only laughs at his attempt to hide being scared by changing the subject. She lets him have it "Good."
Both awkwardly stare at each other still not completely used to each other. One is new to the whole family thing. The other is new to having a kid. "Sabine told me you made cookies?" Marinette finally states, "Ah yes," Tom looks around before noticing them in her hands. "Oh, there they are! Go ahead and head off to school, those are for your class." Marinette nods before heading out.
As Marinette heads to school she notices an old man crossing the street filled with oncoming traffic. The logical part of Marinette screams that the man is a goner and there is no point. However, somewhere in her heart, she knows she has to save him, so she does. The bluenette sprints into the traffic, grabs the man, and sprints onto the other side of the street, all without dropping a single macaron.
"Are you alright sir?" Marinette asks while looking over the man. "Why yes thank you, young lady." In a rare act of kindness, the bluenette hands him a macaron before finishing her walk to school.
Marinette walks in and takes in all the other students, making mental notes of each of their personalities. Immediately she is greeting with smiling faces and people introducing themselves. Noticing the blond-haired demon sitting on the second seat on the right side of the room. Marinette makes a strategic decision not to sit in front of her. She looks to the other side of the room and sees a brunette that looks a little too excited for Marinette's taste.
Marinette rolls her eyes at all the noise of her classmates who still haven't gotten the hint of being ignored when she notices the perfect seat. In the very back of the class was an empty seat next to a quite redhead. She starts moving past the brunette who looks disappointed at being ignored. The blue beauty could care less what she thought. Once there she eyes the boy who shrinks back a bit, Marinette softens her expression just a bit and sits down silently offering him a macaron.
Five minutes pass and the teacher walks in. "Hello everyone I am Miss Bustier. We have three new students today." She smiles at Marinette and the other girl before noticing the missing student. "Well girls why don't you introduce yourselves."
The brunette stands up and smiles at everyone, "Hello everyone I'm Alya, and I moved to Paris because my mom got a job at Le Grand Paris" Miss Bustier smiles before turning to Marinette. Said girl rolls her eyes but stands up anyway "Hey, I'm Marinette and Tom made some macarons for everyone," she says and walks down placing the cookies in Miss Bustier's awaiting hands.
Making her way back she gets stopped by Alix. "If you don't mind, who's Tom?" "Oh, that's my dad, kinda. I'm adopted" is all she says before making the final journey back to her seat. No one comments on it, not that it bothers Marinette, she has nothing to hide.
"Well, that was wonderful girls," Miss Bustier says in fake sugar. "Maybe next time Marinette you can keep that kind of information to yourself". The girl only rolls her eyes and scoffs "She asked a question, it would be rude if I ignored her". Miss Bustier doesn't say anything, but the blond demon does. "Ha pathetic! You were adopted, I can see why your parents gave you up," She says eyeing the girl up and down.
Everyone watches in anticipation for Marinette to cry, scream, something. However, all she does is raise an eyebrow at the blond. "I don't know why you think that would affect me. You're nothing but a dumb blond. Everything you've ever wanted was handed to you on a silver platter. All you have to say is I want it" Marinette says 'I want it' in a high-pitched mocking voice.
She continues "You are just a smoothed brained daddy's girl with self-esteem issues, I'm guessing they come from being ignored at home, maybe an absent parent. Probably both if anything can be taken from your" Marinette looks her up and down "Everything".
The group of teens looks between the fuming Chloé and the collected Marinette. Even Miss Bustier is unsure of what will happen between the girls. Suddenly there is a knock on the door interrupting the showdown. The students and their teacher turn towards the door and see a blond boy with green eyes.
"ADRIKINS!!" Is heard before the boy is tackled to the ground by the blond demon. "You won't believe what one of the new girls said to me! She called me smooth-brained! Whatever that means" she pouts.
Marinette studies the boy waiting to see his reaction. She wants to know who this 'Adrikins' is. "Why did she call you that?" 'Huh he wants to know the full story, interesting.' She thinks. "I don't know! She just attacked me!"
Everyone gasps as they wait for Marinette's response. Said girl only scoffs "sure blond demon what a likely story. You made fun of the fact that I'm adopted without having any background knowledge of why I didn't have parents." "Cough Smooth-brained cough."
"Blond Demon?!? How dare you" said girl marches up to Marinette. She only rolls her eyes "Yeah, that's what I've been calling you in my head. I don't remember you introducing yourself." The blond huffs and turns away. "How do you not know why I am. I am Chloé Bourgeois, daughter of Mayor Bourgeois and Style Queen Audrey Bourgeois."
Chloé waits for some acknowledgment, applause, something. She turns around and sees Marinette filing her nails, "Staring is rude," is all she gets. Chloé storms down the stairs and into her seat grumbling the whole time.
"Ummm now that that's over," Miss Bustier turns to 'Adrikins' "Why don't you introduce yourself before you take a seat." He nods "Hello I'm Adrien Agreste and this is my first time in a real school!" He beams. Marinette internally cringes 'homeschooled rich kid, the worst kind."
Finally Miss Bustier gets on with the day, by handing out get to know each other packets and assignments, 'how boring' is Marinette's final thought before getting started.
