Katsuki's POV:

It all started with me standing in the gift shop of the hospital. I go to reach for the last pack of gummies in the box when my hand touches someone else. Their skin is cold like they haven't felt warmth in days. I look up and quickly move my hand off of the others. His untamed hair is purple like lilacs. His skin is pale and his eyes a deep purple. He smiles and says "Hitoshi and go ahead." Moving his hand from the gummies.

"No it's ok. I actually don't care for those. My name is Katsuki."

I look into his lavender eyes and they don't look sick. Most people here look sick. This was the cancer ward. There was silence and then he said "Hey give me your phone."

"What? Why do you need my phone?" I ask, slowly pulling it from my back pocket.

"I'm just going to put my number in it", he said, taking my phone.

After a minute he handed it back. I actually had the cute boy's number.

"I'm here for my sister, these are her favorite candy" he added to the conversation. There was a certain amount of hesitation in his voice, but I didn't think much of it. If I ever texted him and asked to hang out at least it wouldn't be in one of those hospital rooms.

I was so over the hospital rooms. Also all the tests and pokes and pills. I just had been told that I was in remission and that I no longer had to stay there. I was grateful to be out of this horrid place but also grateful I wasn't sick anymore. Life was hard enough as a seventeen year old boy but add cancer on top of that. Life had suddenly become unimaginable. I look down at Hitoshi's shoes.

*Flash Back*

"A tumor? Where?" I asked after the doctor said all he could.

"Yes. Unfortunately it is on your spinal cord. Therefore any surgery is very risky. It could leave you paralyzed" that was not what I wanted to hear. "However with radiation and chemo therapy you could fully recover."

I had been having severe pain all around my back. Finally my parents took me in to the doctor where they referred me to the specialist, whose office I was now sitting in. Fourteen and a tumor the size of a baseball on my spinal cord. My parents sat behind me and just nodded. My life seemed to be over. "Anything to make our Katsuki better." my parents said in perfect unison. That was almost three years ago and I had been in this trashy place off and on since the diagnosis.

*Flash back over*

Suddenly I am snapped back into the present by my mother's gentle touch. She smiled at me and then realized that I was still staring at the purple haired kid's shoes. "We must be going now darling." She said as I began to look up at the boy's face.

"Oh yeah, uh sorry. Hope your sister is ok. They only send the worst cases here."

"I'm sure she'll be ok." he half smiled "Text me."

And with that I waved a final goodbye and we went our separate ways.
