Hitoshi's POV:

His hands were warm and his eyes a shade of red and orange. His hair almost bleached blonde. He reminded me of the sun. Warmth. Why did I lie to him? Maybe it was because he had an "I beat cancer" pin on his shirt and I didn't want to bring his high down if he had just beat the deadly disease. Or maybe it was the fact that he was cute and I didn't want him to see me as sick or weak. Whatever it was, I felt bad for lying to him, even though he was a complete stranger.

The truth is I wasn't at the hospital for my sister. I don't even have a sister. I am an only child. Adopted in fact by a nice couple who loves and cares for me very much. They adopted me when I was two, almost fourteen years ago. Their names are Shota Aizawa and Hizashi Yamada, but I call them dad and papa. They would do anything for me, so when I started feeling sick they rushed me into my doctor's office. That was only two months ago and now I am here. Just earlier that week I had been diagnosed with stage 3 leukemia.

Of course I didn't tell Katsuki this. He couldn't be much older than I and to have already beaten cancer was a miracle.

A few days passed and Katsuki still hadn't texted or called. I was sure that he had forgotten all about our brief encounter that day, but in my mind it was worth a shot to text.

"Hey Katsuki. It's Hitoshi. We met the other day"

The little text bubble started to appear not long after that. I waited anxiously for a response.

"Hey Hitoshi! I meant to text you but my family has been over for the last few days. I guess that's just what people do when someone beats cancer. LOL"

"Yeah I guess. I wouldn't know" I responded.

"I've been meaning to ask how's your sister?" When I saw that I knew I couldn't keep lying.

"Well actually..." I sent " I don't have a sister."

I could see that Katsuki had seen the message but he didn't respond. After an hour he finally sent a reply although it was short.

"What room?"

"1050"
