Josie  misses Penelope even though they broke up. It is the night before her eighteenth's birthday, and she will receive her soulmate mark at midnight. Unknown to Josie, Penelope has already gotten her soulmate mark as she is several months older. It reads: Josie. The idea for this story is by @PosieSaltzPark, and thus this book is dedicated to them.

Josie sighs as she flops onto her bed. She refuses to admit it to anyone, but she misses Penelope. Despite dating other people, no one can compare to the raven haired witch. Penelope left a huge whole in Josie's heart when she left, and Josie doubts it will ever be filled.

They've been broke up for a year now and the siphoner knows that at midnight, she will discover who her soulmate is. On your eighteenth birthday, your soulmate's name appears on your wrist. Josie is turning eighteen tonight.

She knows she shouldn't be hung up on Penelope when she will soon know her soulmate is, but she can't help it. Josie loved, and still loves, Penelope so much, and wishes they had never broken up. She secretly hopes that Penelope will be her soulmate.

"Hey Jo," Lizzie smiles as she enters the room, "You excited for tonight?"

"You know it," Josie replies, faking a smile.

"Okay, I'll bite. What's up?" Lizzie asks.

"I miss Penelope. I know you don't like her, but I still love her, Lizzie. I really hope she is my soulmate, and I know that's bad after she left me and everything, but I can't help it," Josie sighs. She knows she can't hide anything from her twin: Lizzie knows her too well.

"I know you do. Look, I don't like Penelope at all, but if she does end up being your soulmate, I will try my best to get along with her for your sake," Lizzie promises.

"Thank you. I love you, Liz. Now, are you nervous to find out yours?" Josie questions.

"Nope. Just excited. I know it's Hope, because I'm hers, so she must be mine," Lizzie replies confidently.

"That's the way it works, sis. Now, how about we watch some Netflix while we wait for midnight?" Josie suggests.

"Sounds good," Lizzie agrees.

They get comfortable on Josie's bed. Lizzie grabs her laptop and pulls up Netflix. They begin to watch Grey's Anatomy, and the hours drift by quickly. The alarm Josie set goes off at midnight, and they look at their wrists together. Sure enough, Lizzie's wrist reads Hope, which makes the blonde smile widely.

"Come on, Jo. What does yours say?" Lizzie urges.

"Penelope. It says Penelope," Josie replies.

"Well shit, Jo. Guess I have to be nice to satan now," Lizzie grins.

A few weeks later, Penelope is laying on her bed in Belgium. Her eyes are red from crying. She misses Josie so much, but knows the brunette would never take her back. Not after the pain she caused her by leaving. The raven haired witch got her soulmate mark about a month after arriving in Belgium when she turned eighteen. It reads Josie.

Since that day, she has longed to reach out to her former lover and tell her, but she is scared Josie will want nothing to do with her even though they are soulmates. Penelope just wants to be able to hold Josie in her arms again and kiss her. She swears to herself that if she gets that chance, she will never, ever let Josie go again.

Suddenly, her cell phone goes off. Rolling over, she grabs it off her bedside table. Penelope's heart soars when she reads the name on the screen: Josie. She answers it despite her racing heartbeat.

"Hey Jojo," She whispers.

"Penny," Josie replies.

"Is everything okay, Josie? We don't exactly do texts or phone calls," Penelope questions as she stares at the soulmark on her wrist.

"I..Penelope, I got my soulmark a few weeks ago. It's you. You're my soulmate," Josie explains.

"I know, Jojo. I'm older than you, remember?" Penelope tells the brunette.

"Why didn't you say anything?" Josie asks.

"Because I didn't think you would want anything to do with me after what I did," Penelope sighs.

"But I do. I forgive you. Please come home. I want us to try again, and not just because we're soulmates. Come home, Penelope," Josie begs.

"I'll be on the next flight home. I need to start packing now, though. I'll see you soon, Jojo," Penelope promises.

"See you soon, Penny," Josie replies, hanging up the phone.

Penelope hangs up as well and begins packing frantically. By the time is she done, everything is thrown messily into several suitcases. She talks to the headmaster and tells her that she is leaving. The headmaster is surprised by the suddenness of it all, but tells Penelope that she will transfer her school records back to the Salvatore school.

After bidding her friends goodbye with promises to keep in touch, Penelope heads for the airport. She buys a ticket for the next flight to Mystic Falls, and waits. Once her flight in called, she gets on board. Penelope's heart is racing in her chest the entire flight home.

"Hey Jo. Your dad wants to see you in his office," Hope tells Josie as she approaches the girl.

"Thanks, Hope. Oh, just so you know, even though we're best friends, if you hurt my sister I will set you on fire," Josie replies.

"Got it," Hope chuckles.

Josie heads off towards her father's office. Reaching the large oak doors, she knocks. The doors swing open to reveal not her father, who is nowhere to be seen, but Penelope, who is standing there, a large grin on her face.

"Hey Jojo," she greets.

"Penelope!" Josie smiles.

Josie throws herself into Penelope's arms. The raven haired witch catches her, and holds her close. Josie is close to tears. She's missed Penelope so much, and can not believe that she is actually here, holding her in her arms once more.

"Don't cry, love. I'm right here, and I will never leave you again. We can do this, Josie. We can find our way back to each other," Penelope soothes.

"Promise?" Josie sniffles.

"I promise. Now, will you go out with me?" Penelope smirks. Josie, of course, says yes.
