She jerked her head to see a volleyball flying towards her. Stumbling backward, she could either bump the ball back or let it hit her face. Figuring that the first option is better, she gets in position and receives the ball. The receive wasn't the best, but it wasn't bad. It was very average, but at least she hit it back.
"WOAH YOU PLAY VOLLEYBALL????" A short orange head practically yelled, running towards Heavell. A bit shocked by the boy, she stumbled backward and bumped into someone.
"GOMEN GOMEN GOMEN GOMEN-!!" Heavell apologized to the person she bumped into.
"Tsk." Heavell looked up to see a tall boy with glasses, staring at her.
"Tsukishima!" A certain silver head called out. Heavell jerked her head and saw Suga standing behind her.
"Sugawara-kun!!!"
"Haruki!!"
Sugawara and Heavell shot each other a grin but then was interrupted by a loud voice.
"KIYOKOOOOO!!!!!"
Heavell jerked her head to see a short boy running towards Kiyoko- wait, Kiyoko?! Kiyoko made eye contact with Heavell and her eyes widened in shock. Kiyoko as in... My childhood best friend?!?!?
Kiyoko did a 'But didn't you die?' hand signal with 100% seriousness. Heavell gave her the 'Call me' hand and Kiyoko nodded in response. Apparently, the short boy who screamed Kiyoko's name earlier and his bald best friend saw their little 'conversation' and their jaws dropped.
"KIYOKO???? YOU'RE GOING TO CALL THE NEW KID??????" The short one yelled.
"YOU DON'T EVEN CALL US!!!" The tall one added.
"NISHINOYA! TANAKA! 10 LAPS!!" Daichi yelled from across the gym. Nishinoya and Tanaka let out a loud groan and started to run.
"Haruki! Are you planning to join the volleyball club?" Daichi asked, putting his hands on her shoulders. Heavell stiffened under his touch, nodding her head.
"Great! Come back tomorrow after school so we can tell Coach Ukai and determine your position!"
Heavell nodded and skipped out of the gym, getting ready for the last few classes of the day. Then, she felt a hand on her shoulder. Turning around, she saw Kiyoko.
"Haruki?" She asked, obviously confused.
"H-Hey Kiyoko! Could we maybe talk about this after school?-"
Kiyoko gave a little nod and showed Heavell her phone screen, displaying her phone number. She let out a little 'o' noise and added kiyoko's number.
The 2 parted ways and Heavell headed towards her last class of the day which happens to be chemistry. Heavell actually liked chemistry but it was harder for her so she always paid attention during class. She turned her head to look out the window and saw 2 birds on a branch. Smiling to herself, she let out a long sigh and faced forward.
"So today's homework is page 210-225. If you need any help please email me!~"
Heavell opened her textbook and flipped to page 210 and her eyes widened in shock. She didn't understand anything written in the book. Letting out a quiet groan, she face-planted into her desk and waited for the bell to ring.
The teacher explained how to do some of the questions and Heavell got a better understanding. The bell rang and the girl was still confused. She understood more, but more wasn't enough.
"Haruki-san?"
Heavell turned her head and saw Kiyoko standing there. Giving her Haruki's signature grin, she stood up and gathered her things.
"So... Do you want to come to my house so I can explain?"
Kiyoko nodded and followed Heavell outside and to her house.
After a 10 minute walk, they arrived at Heavell's house and the 2 girls sat in the living room.
"So are you going to explain...?"
Letting out a sigh, Heavell took her wig off revealing her long, blackhair in a bun.
"So as you know, Haruki took his life and he wasn't able to do the things he wanted to do... so I wanted to complete his dreams and reach his goals for him."
A tear escaped Heavell's eye and she buried her face into her hands.
"I'm sorry for being so emotional it's just..." Heavell let out a muffled sob and Kiyoko wrapped her arms around her.
"It's going to be okay... I'll help you.." Kiyoko said, wrapping her arms around the crying girl.
"So when do your parents come home?" She asked, pulling out of the hug.
"My parents went on a business trip in America and I'm pretty sure they live different lives at this point- but they still pay for the bills and send me money monthly to take care of myself."
Kiyoko hummed in response and stood back up, stretching.
"Well I should get going. I'll try my best to help you when you need it!~"
The 2 girls said their goodbyes and Heavell got started with her homework.
