What was that!? A drum hit the wrong way? A tree that fell over? No. It was something much worse.

Its chaos. The Indians are running frantically, some getting weapons, others gathering weeping children and running.

The Lost Boys are trapped in the mix– many getting trampled on– but everyone has one thought and one thought only.

Captain Hook.

Where's Peter Pan? I can't find him! I look around desperately, but to no avail. I hear a roar behind me and quickly nock my arrow and shoot. I hit a pirate square in the chest. He drops dead immediately.

Nevermind! There's not enough time! We must defend the Indians!

I prepare another arrow and run through the battle that is taking place, shooting pirates who get in my way. I see Quiet Fox and his sling shot taking down many pirates, but there's one behind he doesn't see. The pirate lifts his sword ready to swing. I shoot my arrow which lands in the pirate's raised arm. Quiet Fox hears the pirate yell in pain and quickly stabs him with the pirate's own sword. Before I can help more, a pirate comes towards me.

"Hey kid! Don't you know you shouldn't be running with sharp objects." He bellows. I shoot, but he somehow dodges. He runs toward me, full force, sword ready to chop me up. I can't nock my arrow in time! He suddenly drops dead. Behind him is Mud, standing with a sharpened stick that has green ooze running down it. A poisoned spike, his speciality.

I nod in thanks and he just turns around to stab more pirates. In my peripherals, I see a pirate with a fancy feathered hat and red coat approaching Big Bear. I snarl as I recognize the pirate. Captian Hook.

I try to shoot Hook in the back but it whizzes past him.

"Big Bear! Behind you!" I yell frantically as I run to him. He turns around, but in barely enough time. The two swords clash like thunder, both grit their teeth in trying to ward off the other. I didn't realize how strong Big Bear was until now.

Eventually, Big Bear pushes Hook back, I finally meet them and stand with Big Bear against Captain Hook.

"Move boys! I have no interest to hurt you!" Hook yells at us. I scoff.

"Like we can believe that!" I reply.

"I just want Pan."

"Well you'll have to get through us." Big Bear says.

We stand defensively, ready to attack. Hook starts running towards us in murderous rage when he's stopped by Peter Pan.

"Leave my apprentices alone!"

"Come now boy, don't need to act like you care in front of me." Hook replies. Big Bear and I make confused faces, but quickly dismiss it. Nothing Captain Hook says can ever be trusted.

We are suddenly surrounded by pirates as Hook and Pan start moving away in a tight battle. Big Bear and I stand back to back. I look over my shoulder at him for some form of comfort as they close in. He winks at me, and I know what to do.

All at once they jump on us. I nock three arrows and shoot, two finding a target and making them unable to fight.  We pivot in a circle, just as a pirate figures out how to get around one attack, he is met with a different one. The contrast between my bow and Big Bear's sword makes us unstoppable, and I can't help smiling as we fight in perfect harmony.

Finally all the pirates that surrounded us are either dead or too wounded to continue. We high-five and run towards our next target. I work my way to Quiet Fox who is once again struggling since this is not his normal form of attack– he prefers a sneak-kill style. The pirates start retreating though, too many of them have been picked off.

We all cheer in victory and savor the taste of battle. The Indians holler in triumph with their newly stained weapons. Quiet Fox looks at me then runs off. Mud and I meet eye contact and then he looks away. All our words are spoken in these stares.

I feel like someone's missing. I count heads and stare at out-of-breath faces. We're missing two, but who?

Where's Captain Hook and Peter Pan? Surely Pan defeated him. I notice a red feather disappearing in the forest. I breath a sigh of relief, Peter Pan is safe. Well of course he is, what was I thinking?

But there's one more, who could it be? I look over the Lost Boys again and realize my side feels empty, like something should belong there. My eyes open wide.

How could I have forgotten? His presence should've been one of the first things I felt, but its not there! I desperately search the destroyed Powwow. He's not here! Panic claims my mind and my hands start shaking.

Big Bear is nowhere to be found.
