What really should have happened in ep 5 of Shadow and Bone?

In this, Alina doesn't know of his plans and Baghra never came to warn her.

His hand brushed her cheek lightly at first, as if she was some breakable thing. His dark eyes flashed as the corner of his lip curved into a knowing smile. Alina soon matched his smile - though she trembled a little as if both excited and terrified at the events that were happening. She reached up with one hand and undid the clip holding her bun in place. Her long, black hair tumbled free of its holder and cascaded in waves down her back. Kirigan's eyes glinted as he watched her movements, his hand gripping Alina's face tighter. She drew in a sharp breath.

It was clear that he could no longer wait - he began to breathe heavily as he stepped forward, closer to Alina. She opened her mouth to say something but was soon silenced by the General's lips crushing into hers. He brought his other hand to her face and held her in his hands, holding onto her as if she was his only lifeline to the world. Alina gave in to his demands and deepened the kiss. This only made Kirigan even more ravenous as he hastily pulled her close to him, his hands running along her shoulders, down to her waist. Alina began to pant as she dragged her nails down the back of his black tunic, and it was this little motion that sent him over the edge.

Kirigan grabbed Alina by the waist, hoisting her up onto the table in one fluid motion. She gasped a little at this movement but did not show any signs of protesting as he nudged her legs apart with his knee, settling between them so he could reach her better. She moaned a little back in her throat, causing him to cease his hungry kiss and look at her with those wide, black eyes. A small smile played at the corner of his lips as he watched Alina panting.

"Are you sure?" He asked softly, his voice low and husky.

She brought her hand up through his raven hair, teasing her fingers through it and alongside his sharp cheekbones. She felt a shudder run through his body at her touch. He wanted her. Badly. And she wanted him.

She glanced up at him through her eyelashes and nodded. Oh, yes, she was quite sure.

The General responded fervently, leaning into her body once more as if he couldn't get enough of her touch. He lay her gently, almost reverently, down on the table. He hovered over her for a moment before kissing her once again, trailing his tongue along her bottom teeth before biting her lip. She made that noise in her throat again, that blissful noise somewhere between pleasure and pain, and it was right then that he decided he could wait no longer. He had to have her.

Suddenly, a loud knock resounded throughout the room. Alina gasped, sitting up a little.

"General! I need to speak with you about something!" A voice called from the other side of the main door.

Alina looked like she was about to get up, but was stopped. Kirigan growled a little as he grabbed her arms with his hands and pushed her back onto the table.

"We're not done yet," he said in a deadly whisper.

"Later, Ivan!" The General roared as he brought one hand up and sliced it down, sending a wave of darkness across the room that flicked the lock into place, sealing the two protectively inside.

Kirigan looked down at Alina, who smiled a bit.

"Well," she whispered, sitting up and stroking his jawline, "That's one way to solve that problem."
