“Easy. Yeah right!” Yelled Leorio from in front of Kukuroo Mountain.

Third person pov

The gates were tall. Really tall.. Leorio and Kurapika were gawking at it and Gon had something in his eyes akin to amazement. They were all rudely pulled out from their heads as a man marched up to the guard box. Demanding that he be let in.

Kurapika became furious as the old guard shookly handed over the keys. The kurta was about to rush over when Gon stuck his arm out and narrowed his eyes in suspicion.

“Gon let me through! That man just threatened a harmless old man!”

Still Gon’s stance did not waver even the slightest at his companions' words.

“At least give us a reason not to charge up there dammit!” Leorio yelled in agreement with his blond associate.

Just as the mystery man was handed the keys, the youngest began to elaborate his wariness.

“This is the home to elite assassins. Deadly killers that rank so high up in statis, would never higher some weak willed butlers. We’re talking about Killua’s family here.”

The two that the child blocked gaped at him and a tiny narrowing of the guards eyes suggested that he was in the right.

The rugged man had managed to unlock the door and walked in. Within a few seconds screams echoed from within the walls.

“This most likely isn’t even the correct entrance way.” Gon stated blandly and the door that the man had gone through slowly opened.

A skeleton was tossed out of the doors right before it slammed shut. The tour guide started yelling that the tour was over and the bus would leave soon. The tourist rushed over and boarded the bus, stumbling at each other in the process.

As the bus pulled out. Two of the three friends, specifically the two eldest of the three, watched the youngest walk over to the same booth that the now dead man had walked to.

Now electing to provide a smile, Gon’s eyes twinkled as he greeted the older man.

“Hi! I have a question I would like to ask!”

The chubby man nodded in a form of acknowledgement.

“This isn’t the real entrance, is it? You aren’t also a weak old man, are you?”

The guard narrowed his eyes even more till he broke out in a smile.

“I’m Zebro, the grounds keeper for this estate!”

Kurapika and Leorio had fully managed to reach Gon and look at the older man more clearly. The self proclaimed Zebro was for the most part bald except for two tufts of white, aged, hair near his ears.

“I’m Gon! This is Leorio and Kurapika. We are friends with Killua and have come to get him.” Gon never dropped his smile as he continued. “And like I asked, this door isn’t the real one, correct?”

Kurapika watched his younger accomplice in fondness while Leorio just gave a huff at his antactics.

“This isn’t the correct door, as you said. But before I lead you to the real one, we will need to call the main house, eh?” Zebro added with an equal amount of unhidden amusement.

“That would be great!” Cheered Gon as he flung his hands to the sky with a smile.

Zebro just chuckled and disappeared into his small office. Like a lost dog, Gon walked right after him with Kurapika and Leorio.

“This is the testing gate. The first gate weighs two tons. Each door above it is doubled from the last gate's weight. If y’all youngsters can open at least one of these then you all can pass.” The old security guard stated.

The youngest of the new trio seemed to be jumping up and down with badly contained curiosity.

“Can I do it!?” Gon shouted as he vibrated in his spot.

“Sure kiddo, go ahead!” Zebro answered him.

Before any complaints could be made, the green kid shot past his two troubled friends and placed his two wrapped hands against the cold stone wall. The temperature of it seemed to give him shivers.

BAM! A dirty child hit the floor hard. The one that was right behind the child walked up to the crumpled form slowly, flaunting their own power over the eight year old boy. The boy let out a cry as the older man forced his boot into his ribs.

“Come on now, I know you can do better than that sorry excuse for an escape. Remember. I was there when you were running around those piles of trash! With such little strength, you can’t do anything!”

An echoing whimper cut through the dark room as the brown eyed child was pulled up by his own greasy hair, and forced to look into his torturers eyes.

Feitan.

“You need more strength, but we can work on that. We have all the time in the world. Don’t we,”

The freezing cold floor under his feet sent chills through his body.

“Gon.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“GON!”
Said child stumbled back as his name was screamed in his own ear. Whipping his head around, he faced concerned light greyish-brown eyes that belonged to Kurapika.
“You were spacing out again.” The blond one explained with hidden sympathy.
“Oh.”
Was all that came to Gon’s mind right before he flashed a big smile.
“Sorry ‘bout that! Okay, so now I need to get this door open!”
Turning his focus back to the gates, he missed the  different looks sent his way. Pressing his palms against the gate, he took in a deep breath and called upon his own nen. He had learned that if he focused, he could strengthen any part of his body.
Slim arms lined with a transparent, silvery aurora. He pushed as hard as he could.
Creaking could be heard from above as Gon continued to push against the stone.
“Five doors….” Was muttered from behind him.
Shuffling their feet quickly, Kurapika and Leorio dragged a pale Zebro inside to the now opened gate. Gon soon fell through into Leorio’s arm, shouting an exaggerated ‘WOOAAHH’ on the way.
The child soon rubbed the back of his head in a sheepish way.
“Sorry, I might have gone a little overboard…”
“Five gates!” Zebro shouted, “that was only a little overboard! That was 32 TONS!”
“Don’t worry about the details! We have to get to Killua soon!”
With that, Gon went off running down the dirt path. Forcing the three people to chase after him. After a while, they all came to a halting stop in front of a massive, deep purple, scraggly, beast.
“Everyone meet Mike!” The oldest man shouted with a smile.
