Prompt: Dream comes home late at night after committing a harsh crime, trying to get his own justice after he lost someone who didn't get theirs.

A/N: I dunno if I want to do like two separate chapter A/U's for this song because usually I go off the song pretty much exactly for prompt inspo but this one I veered from because I really liked this idea; so if I do decide to do another chapter with this song but have a different prompt that more follows the actual songs meaning, oh well just a possible heads up i guess. Dream burst through his front door, hard enough that it could have broken off his hinges. He stumbled inside as he slammed the door shut behind him, falling back against it once it closed. The blond's eyes were wide and glossy as his heavy breathing continued, eyes not moving to glance around the dark room; the only light coming from a window on the far wall to shine moonlight in from the late hour.

Dreams' chest fell and raised quickly before he managed to take a shaky breath and stumble his way into standing; leaning his wet hands against the nearby wall to steady himself as he blankly made his way down the hall. He only stared at the floor, the only sound in the whole house being that of his shuffling feet and heavy breathing.

He walked into the bathroom, fear catching in his chest as he flicked the bathroom light on; shakily bringing his hands in front of him and nearly collapsing at the thick red liquid that fell from his fingertips to the floor, looking at the light switch where some was left as well. He could feel tears welling in his eyes but didn't have it in him to let them fall yet, them only being made clearer to himself as he approached the mirror.

The blond looked at the reflection that was given to him, he wanted to lean on the counter but didn't want to make even more of a mess; he didn't recognize who he saw. The blank face staring back at him, the once that both held so much emotion yet also seemed to be emotionless at the same time. It scared him.

Dream looked down at the white marble sink, shakily bringing a hand to turn on the faucet; trying to ignore the red that was left on the handle as he brought his hands under the steadily flowing water. He gently let his fingers and the water wash off the red on them, the liquid becoming thicker from the time it had been left on his hands before coming off and running down the drain.

Dream tried to steady his breathing as his lips parted, the only way he could think to stabilize his mind while cleaning his hands; he started speaking quietly to himself. "I-I'm sorry for what I did..." his hands shook as they got cleaner, moving further up his forearms where his hoodie sleeves were pushed back. "I learned my lesson...I'll be a better man." He looked back at the unrecognizable reflection, closing his lips; it was just in case but some of it was a lie.

The blond made his way back down the hallway, his eyes adjusting to the dark as he was able to spot the streaks his hands had made along the wall when he got back. He gripped the wet towel in his hand, shuddering at the sight before bringing it to the slightly bumpy surface; wiping away the marks before they could stain. He had already packed up a good bit of his room to be tidy again after some things got thrown around earlier in a fit of aggression.

He continued to wipe down the wall to be clean, tears starting to fall down his cheeks as he did so; occasionally rinsing off the towel before returning to the surface. Thoughts raced in his head as he scrubbed small circles to gently rid of the red marking the pale walls; he should regret it and he should feel remorse and inhuman. He stopped his cleaning momentarily as his breath hitched. He should but, he did it all for him so he didn't feel bad at all.
