(Louis’ POV)

I know I said until deaths do us apart. But Elise, I take it back, I want forever. I’ll always want forever; nothing has been the same since you left. I miss you so much, you voice, your smile, your eyes, your touch. I yearn for it every day.

Sarah’s so beautiful now, she’s a woman. Our baby is growing up. Matt, Harry’s boy, he asked Sarah to marry him a few months ago. If you were here you would have had that million dollar smile on your face, while you wrapped your arms around our little girl. You always did say she was going to be Matt’s girl.

Sarah asked me to walk her down the aisle. It breaks my heart knowing that I can’t, legs getting too weak these days. I wish more than anything that I could see my little girl walk down the aisle; watch her take those first steps in life. Matt truly makes her happy, I know he’s going to take good care of her; lord knows I’m not going to be here much longer to do it.

Oh Elise, I wish you were here to see her. She looks just like you! We did good baby, we really did.

I put the pencil down and folded the piece of paper, and set it into the envelope. Shakily I stood up from the rocking chair and slowly walked over to the book shelf, I placed the envelope inside a box that held everything that reminded me of my beautiful wife. I closed the lid to the box and then turned on my heel, I must’ve turned too quickly because I felt my head spin and I ended up falling on the floor. I tried to pick myself up, but I wasn’t strong enough. I pulled my life alert out from my pocket pushing the button before I felt myself falling into unconsciousness.

Slowly my eyes opened and I saw a bright light. I blinked a couple times and finally I saw the doctor standing In front of me. “Mr. Tomlinson, how are you feeling?” The doctor asked looking down at her clipboard. “Quite the fall you had there, I thought we agreed no walking.” She said scolding me.

“How’s the cancer?” I asked her. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly.

“Mr. Tomlinson, I’m afraid the cancer has spread. It’s in 80% of your body. The only thing we can do now is,”

“Let nature take its course.” I said with a small nod. The doctor looked at me teary eyed.

“You’re still fighting Lou, don’t forget that.” She said rubbing my shoulder. “Sarah’s outside, I’m going to let her see you.” She said before leaving. There were voices coming from outside and my door opened.

“Oh, daddy!” Sarah said tears falling from her eyes as she ran over to the bed and hugged me. I heard her sob into my shoulder. “I was so worried.” She whispered softly and I rubbed her back.

“Don’t worry about me love.” I said and she pulled away and sat down in the chair. We sat there in silence, and my eyes fell onto my wedding ring. I smiled down at it, twisting it slightly.

“You really did love mom didn’t you?” Sarah asked softly and I nodded.

“With all of my heart and soul.” I answered.

“You miss her?” She asked.

“Every day.”

Will you tell me about you guys? Like tell me the story.” Sarah said.

“What story?” I asked her.

“Tell me the story of how you and mom fell in love.” Sarah said to me and I nodded.

“Okay.” I closed my eyes for a minute letting all of the old memories flood back to me.
