(Narrator’s POV)

Louis woke up the next morning feeling extremely tired and weak. But he fought through it, calling Harry and telling him to bring him his tux, and drive him down to the church. It was a fight for Louis to be allowed to leave the hospital, but after a while the doctor allowed it.

Harry and Louis drove to the chapel and Harry brought Louis to see Sarah. Sarah looked stunning in her dress, like Louis had said to her. “Dad, you’re here.” Sarah breathed before walking over to Louis’ wheelchair and wrapping her arms around him.

“I told you I was going to see my little girl walk down the aisle,” Louis whispered, trying his best not to make anything sound forced, because today was about Sarah, and he didn’t want anyone’s attention taken away from his baby girl. Sarah knew that her dad shouldn’t be here, that he should be back in the hospital, but none of that mattered right now.

Soon enough everyone was getting ready for the wedding to begin, Sarah took Louis’ hand and Harry stood behind the wheelchair, getting ready to push. The song began to play, and Sarah, Louis, and Harry all walked to the alter. Louis gave his little girl away, and watched her get married. He couldn’t have been happier for her, he was proud, and he knew that Elise would have been proud.

Louis went back to the hospital, lying on the hospital bed, totally oblivious to what was going on around him. Unconcerned that the cancer had spread to 90% of his body, unworried that today was last good day. So when he closed his eyes to go to sleep, he slept with a smile on his face, knowing that he ended it just the way he would’ve wanted it. Seeing all of the people he loved and cared about, happy.

All except for one face, the one face that he was so anxiously waiting to see again. That face that he saw in the coffee shop all those years ago. Though he’d never tell anyone, not even Elise, but he remembered every little detail of the time they had spent together. He knew the outfits that were worn, the words that were spoken, and the feelings that we’re felt. When his eyes met hers, he felt something that he could never explain, though he’d never admit that. Louis knew that the love shared between Elise and he was indescribable. It was the type of love you see in the movies, or read about in books, though, neither of those things could even slightly come close to the feelings that we’re felt between those two. Louis found himself falling for Elise over and over again, though they never fell out of love, every time Louis looked at Elise, he couldn’t help but get a flood of emotions. Only Elise had that kind of effect on him, an effect that was so powerful.

“Time of death, 4:21 am” A nurse said to the doctor.

(Louis’ POV)

“Louis,” She came over to me, jumping into my arms, her legs wrapping around my waist.

“You waited for me,” I questioned, and she pulled away.

“Course I did,” She mumbled, looking into my eyes. I didn’t let another second pass before my lips crashed onto hers. Every little emotion that my body could manage was put into that kiss, and it was evident she was doing the same.

“I missed you so much Elise,” I mumbled pulling away. Elise placed her finger on my lips, as she shushed me.

“You’re never going to have to think like that again,” She said to me, her eyes never losing contact with mine. “I’m not going anywhere.” Elise whispered. “Forever and always,” Elise hopped down to the ground, grabbing both of my hands entwining our fingers. Her crystal blue eyes peering up at me as she stood on her tip toes, and pecked me on the lips.

“Forever and always,” I replied against her skin. Elise pulled back, that smile that I fell in love with all those years ago tugging at her lips, that laughing chiming against my ear drums. She stared up at me for a moment before speaking.

“Then let’s go get our forever,” She whispered, and I nodded before walking with Elise into the distance, ready to get our forever.
