Chapter 3

A/N Guys! I'm so sorry for not updating i just forgot about it and lost my tablet... but now I'm back... so i got one comment... (yay) and it said not to kill arizona and i'm still not sure about her future but I'm making her stay a little longer.

"well done Amy" Derek said with relief in his voice, he knew that losing Arizona will just destroy Callie.

"don't get ahead of your self Derek, we don't know how she will be when she wakes up... if she wakes up."

"I know... page callie we have some news to tell her"

"But i don't get it. how could this happen i mean she was fine just a day ago and now she might never wake up because of a hit and run?" Callie said with tears in her eyes and anger in her voice

"i understand but-"

"But what Derek, She might wake up. it happened the same to Mark. don't you remmember he was in a freaking coma, you were in the room with me, when WE pulled the plug i can't do that again. If she wakes up and has another disability it will eat her alive... at this point i Don't know what is better."

"Callie, you are getting ahead of yourself we don't know what is going to happen tomorrow or in a year but i do know that we will all help you cross that bridge when we get there if we get there. Were gonna have a board meeting later today, i can understand if you don't got but is really important for you to go."

"why, what are we discussing"

"Your trial and other things...",

" I'm going, what time?"

"In one hour"

"fine but i just want to be with arizona so i can i ask you to-"

"Don't worry, were leaving, but remember you were in a coma, it was just for a day but you woke up and here you are today"

And with tha the Shepard siblings left the room, leaving callie and arizona all alone.

"Okay arizona, you listen to me, you can't leave me alone, you just can't, i mean i can't raise sofia alone and you know that" Callie sat down next to the bed and grabbed her hand "after all we've benn trough people might think we are invinsible but were not, you're not. so i need you to fight Arizona Robbins. If Tim is there in the tunnel don't you dare go with him i know you miss him but i need you here with me."

Callie started to remember her car carsh, and how the year after was the best of her life, she got married, had a beutiful baby and a bad ass co parent. until the plane crash, is like that part of her life is back again... oh dear lord, please help me she thought.

Callie woke up by the sound of her beeper. She opend her eyes and she saw her motionless wife; she checked her watch

3:10pm

"Shit shit shit" was all she could say as she kissed her wife on the fourhead and stormed out of the room

she ran though the halls until she reached the conference room "Sorry i-"

"Don't worry callie sit down, we just started" said Richard with a friendly smile

Callie sat down next to derek her hair was a mess and she looked like she had not eaten or rested for a while. Derek put his hand on her shoulder because all eyes were on callie and he knew how unconfortable that made her.

"Okay, as i was saying we have couple of major mile stones this week, we have Torres and Shepard-Amelia on the robotic limb trial, wich is exiting and good for the hospital. Also we have Yang-"

Callie cut him of.

"We need a replacement for head of peds, i say Karev is the one for the job, he was Arizona's student and he is the best pediatrician... at least the best that can performe surgery"

They room was filled with an akward silence that no one could avoid

"Callie, we don't have to talk about that now" said Meredith

"Yes we do, we don't know how long will she be out. and when she wakes up it will be a long time before she can work and even longer before she can operate. so i say we discuss this now... she might not wake up" her voice had no emotion what so ever.

Owen desided to break thw silence "so let's vote for the temporary cheif of pediatric surgery. Dr. Torres has nominated Dr.Karev, Those is favor?"all of the doctors raised their hands with a little of guilt. Because Arizona was in the back of everyone's mind "All those against? this motion clearly passes, someone page Karev so we can imform him."

The board meeting continued smoothly, until karev ansewered his page.

"Dr. Karev we were waiting for you" Said Richard as Alex enterd the room.

Alex responded "you paged?"

"the Board has decided you will be the temporary cheif of pediatric surgery until Dr. Robbins can resume her work."

Alex was speechless. It's been less than 48 hours since the accident and they have already decided this? how is this possible.
"what the hell" said Alex

"excuse me?"

"don't get me wrong i appriciate the opportunity but how can you be so heart less and give up on Arizona"

"excuse me?" Alex was so filled with adrenaline that he didn't realise who it was

"All you care about is not wasting anytime on replacing people. How could you do this. She is your friend, she is my friend, SHE IS YOUR WIFE GOR GOD'S SAKE"

"Excuse me! Who do you think you are telling us how to do our jobs. You don't know what is to be a board members, you have to make hard decisions for the sake of the entire hospital. We need a cheif of pediatrics so someone is in charge of the children and all those stupid interns and residents that love to screw up in peds. And don't you dare say that i gave up on Arizona because if i did Derek would know that he has to unplug her." She stopped for a second and wiped her tears "If you don't want the job just say it we can get another doctor for the job but we wanted you because Arizona was your mentor but i guess you are not good for the job. Excuse me, i'm going to check on my daughter, or do i need to explain that i didn't give up on her either." and with that callie left the room not crying but angry.

"why would you be so stupid and say that karev" said cristina

"I-i don't k-now"

"well congratulations you just made her day worse." Said derek not looking

"So.. that is all doctors, proceed with your days..."Jackson said
