System: Player Black Flame detected. You have 3 options. First option: Normal difficulty, reduced rewards. Second option: Monster Tier increased by 1. Rewards increased by 25%.  Third option: Time reduced by 50%. Rewards increased by 25%. You have until you arrive at the Library to decide.

"What? Three options for an Epic Quest? What does it mean monster Tier? Technically, I don't have to fight any monsters throughout the whole questline. Wait. I have to fight the Great Demon Kildred, but it's weakened. Time reduced means I have less time to act and gather the 30,000 gold for the Tier 4 Magic Scroll, which is something I can't risk. I guess I'll go with the second option."

Shi Feng clicked on the second option before arriving in the Library.

As they entered the Library, Shi Feng saw the same mess the first time he arrived here. "Sorry for the mess. Allow me to change attire first." Sharlyn said.

Sharlyn then changed from her seductress outfit into her Divine Official self. If Shi Feng would have any identification skill, he would see that she is still level 30. After flicking her finger to clean up some dust, she left in search of something.

Shi Feng waited patiently for her to come back, browsing the forums for anything new. Something interesting happened. The Assassin's Alliance has finished clearing the normal mode of Deathly Forest, which was expected as he was the first to receive the items from Blackie.

"I guess I already modified this timeline compared to the last one. I managed to make a good impression on Cola and succeeded in making a name for the Assassin's Alliance. This is just the beginning." Shi Feng said while chuckling.

After reading a forum thread, Sharlyn made her appearance with a tattered book. She placed it on the table.

"I know why you're here. I've sensed the evil energy coming from your body. Bring it out."

After passing the book to Sharlyn, she uttered some Divine Words, wrapping them around the notebook.

A couple seconds passed and black smoke appeared on the cover, revealing a pitch-black sinister face. Without letting it do anything, Sharlyn casted Divine Spear on that face. Three divine spears appeared from a golden hexagram towards the sinister-looking face.

"Hahaha, I won't give up! We will meet again!" The sinister face finished laughing, as the smoke dissipated into the air.

While Sharlyn was sweating due to her using her powers, Shi Feng received a very familiar notification.

System: You have been cursed by a Great Demon. All Attributes reduced by 50%, experience received from killing monsters reduced by 95%.

System: You have been eyed by a Great Demon. The phantom of the Great Demon will come for you in thirty days. If you are killed by the phantom, your body will be taken over by the Great Demon.

Without minding the notification, he started speaking to Sharlyn.

"Miss Sharlyn, are you alright?

Sharlyn shook her head. "Nothing too bad. I never imagined that you would actually bring such a terrifying item. You've weakened me quite a bit. However, the problem has been resolved now. If you dragged on for a few more days, your body might have been possessed by the Great Demon, and your body would suffer in Hell for all eternity."

"Thank you, Lady Sharlyn. You've saved me from the Great Demon."

"No need for thanks. This diary is not as simple as it seems. It is a key. It records the method to unlock the curse on a gate. Your job now is to find this gate, enter through it with this diary, and find the Bible of Darkness that is kept within. I can destroy the Bible of Darkness as long as you retrieve it for me. Once it is destroyed, the Great Demon would not be able to descend," Sharlyn explained.
