Chapter 4: A Whole New World

I decided that I needed to explore a bit to see if there's some way out. I creep down the hallway and see an older woman with green hair, she seemed to be making dinner. I head back to where I was before when a green hair boy comes out of what I guessed was his room. I was frozen with shock as he jumped and screamed. The green hair woman who I figured was his mother came running to see what was going on.
She saw me and I apologize profusely while explaining that I accidentally teleported here. She asked me where I lived and if she could help me get back there. The flashbacks came back in the blink of an eye and I started tearing up. I tried to fight the tears, but I couldn't hold them in and tears ended up streaming down my face.
I started to explain that I ran away from a broken home and that I never plan to go back. After a brief pause she says, "It's ok honey, would you like to stay here, at least until the rain stops?" and I finally got a hold of myself and nodded.
She handed me some towels and said "You can use my shower if you want." I thanked her and went. As I was washing my hair, I got scared about what Overhaul was gonna do  now that I'm gone. The thought terrified me.
I finished my shower and changed into some clothes the green hair woman let me borrow. After I got out she said "Oh, I didn't introduce you to us, I'm sorry dear. I'm Inko and this is my son Izuku." Izuku nervously waved. "It's great to meet you and thank you...for well, everything." "You're welcome honey, I couldn't imagine what you've been through."
She then noticed the meal she was cooking had burnt, she sighed, "Izuku, could you grab my purse, I guess we're going to eat out." "Sure mom." he replied and went to get the purse. Inko then asked me "By the way, I never caught your name." "My name's Akina Aoki." I replied. Just afterwards, Izuku brought Inko her purse and handed it to her.
We ended up going to a nice restaurant and I couldn't decide what to order. Izuku recommended the katsudon, which I ended up ordering. We ate and I told them details about my quirk.
Suddenly, the door slams open and there stood one of Overhaul's subordinates. He was obviously here to take me. I put my hood up on the hoodie I was wearing as he asked one of the employees if they saw anyone matching my description. Thankfully, they said no and he grunted and walked out of the restaurant.
Inko had an idea of the situation I was in before she met me and asked "Akina, how would you like to live with us?" As much as I loved the idea of starting fresh, I hesitated. It was very sudden, and I didn't know her well, but, it was better than going back to Overhaul. I agreed to live with them, which I'd later find out to be the best decision in my life.
