Chapter 5 - Tape 2 Side B (Peter Parker)

"Peter Parker." Y/N's voice echoes as Peter straightens his back, suddenly paying more attention as his name was mentioned "You're probably really confused. I mean what could you have possibly done to end up on the list. You're a really good kid, Peter. Better than me. Which is the reason you made the list. Pure jealousy. I have always been jealous of you." Y/N admits.

"I can't do it today. I told Peter I would..." Tony begins but Y/N cuts him off.

"I'm your daughter. You should be putting me first." Y/N snaps.

"I'll help you later. Let's go kid." Tony smiles as Peter walks in.

"Dad." Y/N barely whispers as her breath hitches in her throat.

"You don't deserve to be blamed. I know that. But you took my dad away from me. And that really stung." Y/N's voice was difficult for Peter to continue listening to. Knowing that he's relationship with Tony caused her hurt was devastating for him. He had never meant to stand on her toes. He loved her like she was his sister and to discover she blamed him for taking up Tony's time hurt.

"Hey, Y/N. We feel terrible that you couldn't make this trip..." Peter begins recording a video of him and Tony to send Y/N so she didn't feel like she was missing out on too much.

"Maybe next year." Tony laughs.

"Next year?" Peter turns to him confused.

"It's a family trip we do every year." Tony nods.

"You do this every year?" Peter asks, shocked.

"Yeah. Every year since Y/N was six." Tony tells him.

"We'll keep you updated on everything that happens. We miss you." Peter smiles as he shuts off the camera.

"He cared for you. And I lost my dad to a kid from Queens." Y/N's voice plays over and over in Peter's head as he realises she didn't see him as part of her family, but rather a kid who stole her dad's attention.
