Fred and Juniper made their way downstairs and Juniper asked Kreature to get all the ingredients.
"Okay so while we wait, why don't we clean up a bit to help your mum?" Juniper suggested.
"Sounds good to me" Fred replied with a small smile of endearment resting on his face. He couldn't believe how nice she was and how much she cared about everyone.
Juniper started sweeping the floors while Fred wiped down the long dining table, both working in sync. Juniper was humming a tune while she worked and Fred was wiping in time.
When Kreature returned Fred took everything off him and got the utensils layed out. When Juniper had finished her sweeping, she returned to Fred and noticed everything laid out.
"Hey Freddie, what's all this?" She asked with a hint of confusion.
Fred's smile dropped. "Oh Junie did you forget already?" Juniper's face twisted into one of sadness at his statement, worried he was annoyed with her. "Oh, I'm sorry I um" she couldn't find her words.
"Oh no I didn't mean it like the Junie, I just meant that I hadn't realised how much of a bad day you were having, it's totally alright that you're having it though! Do you remember that your dad's mad at you?" he asked.
She nodded softly. "I don't remember why though"
"Well we decided to bake him some chocolate cake so it would make it easier to talk to him about it. Here, why don't you get started? I just need to nip to the loo quickly." He handed Juniper the recipe and quickly nipped upstairs, only not to go to the loo, but instead to grab something. When he returned Juniper was working away measuring the wet ingredients.
Fred wordlessly put the item he grabbed on the counter, and walked over to Juniper. "What step are we on?"
"The second step, I'm measuring out the wet ingredients, do you want to measure the dry?" Fred nodded and got to work. Out of nowhere the soft sound of soft 60's music was playing. Juniper turned to Fred with a look of shock, but he just smiled at her and continued his work. She grinned and swayed as she got back to it.
After both the wet and dry ingredients were weighed they got to work combining and mixing them to finish the mixture. Juniper wanted to use a wooden spoon but Fred was adamant that he could use his wand to speed up the process. However while attempting this, he mixed it a bit too fast and the flour flew everywhere, getting all over both of them.
Juniper laughed as she attempted to dodge the flying flour. "I told you we should have used the wooden spoon, let me try" She said with a giggle. Fred laughed, embarrassed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah sorry about that"
While Juniper was mixing the song 'Ladyfingers' came on and Juniper couldn't help but wonder how. "Freddie, where's this music coming from?"
He Smiled. "I brought down my radio and charmed it to play some older songs, I thought it would be nice to bake with music, and since you were having a bad day and music helps your memory I figured this could make you feel a bit better since you'll remember for longer" Junipers face glowed as she grinned. She dropped the spoon and jumped on Fred hugging him. "This means so much Freddie! I can't even tell you how much, I'm seriously so happy right now I could cry" She gushed.
"How about instead of crying we finish mixing this batter, get it in the hotbox and then you dance with me?" He asked, brushing some hair out of Juniper's floury face.
"I would love to," she offered softly. She quickly finished mixing and poured it into a tin, put it in the magical oven, set the timer and charmed the icing to make itself.
