A couple hours later, Christopher's flight arrived in Forks, Washington. He rented a car and drove to the address. When he got to the house, he took a moment to compose himself. He might know that his brother was alive, but he was betting that Carlisle thought he was dead. Christopher got out of the car, walked up the pathway, and knocked on the door.

A woman with caramel colored hair opened the door. "Hello." Esme greeted. "Can I help you?"

"Hi. I'm Christopher." Christopher introduced. "I'm a friend of Carlisle's."

"Oh. Well, come on in." Esme said.

"Thank you." Christopher said as he walked into the house. He followed the woman to an office.

"Carlisle, there's another friend here to see you." Esme said.

Carlisle looked up from what he was doing and he and Christopher made eye contact. "Christopher?" He said.

"Hi Carlisle." Christopher said.

Carlisle was speechless, not knowing what to say. "I thought you were dead." He finally said.

"Wait, you didn't know he was coming." The woman asked.

"I apologize for not telling the truth." Christopher said to the woman. "Carlisle and I are little more than just friends."

"What do you mean?" Esme asked.

"Christopher is my brother." Carlisle answered. "But, what are you doing here?"

"Something about your family being in danger with the Volturi." Christopher said. "I overheard two people talking. A girl with blonde hair and a buff guy with jet black hair."

"That's Rosalie and Emmett." Esme said.

"Well, I wasn't really listening to the conversation until I heard your name." Christopher continued. "I asked them what was going on and they said they were gathering witnesses to confront the Volturi. So, I came to help."

"How did you know they were talking about me?" Carlisle asked.

"Carlisle Cullen is not a common name." Christopher said. "I figured it was you."

"I'm Esme." Esme introduced. "Carlisle's wife."

"It's a pleasure to meet you." Christopher said.

"And you as well." Esme said. "I apologize it's not under better circumstances."

"It's quite alright." Christopher said.

A little bit later, Christopher had met Renesmee and they had explained everything to him. Renesmee looked to be about the same age as Paige. Which reminded him to call his daughter. He walked outside and sat on the balcony.

"Hi Dad." Paige said on the other line.

"Hey sweetie." Christopher said. "I just wanted to call and say goodnight."

"Do you know if you're going to be home from Christmas?" Paige asked.

"Unfortunately, I won't." Christopher said.

"But, Daddy!" Paige whined. "It's Christmas."

"I know. I'm sorry, pumpkin." Christopher said. "As soon as I get back we will celebrate Christmas together."

"Ok." Paige said, disappointed.

"Now, go to bed." Christopher said.

"Ok." Paige said. "Love you."

"I love too, sweetheart." Christopher said. They both hung up the phone.

"Who was that?" Christopher heard someone ask. Although, he knew who it was. He turned around to see Carlisle standing there.
