Carlisle's Twin Brother(A Twilight Fanfic)

Chapter 6

It was night before the confrontation. Everyone was around the fire. Christopher was listening to some of the vampires discussing wars they were apart of. Garrett explained he had been a part of every American war.

One of werewolves Christopher had met while here, started listing battles and wars. Christopher had discovered that Garrett and Carlisle met during the Battle of Yorktown in the midst of the Revolutionary War. Carlisle was a physician treating wounded soldiers and Garrett was fighting in the War. Carlisle had treated Garrett's wounded sister, who had posed as male to fight in the war.

During Christopher's time here, he had discovered how Carlisle met some of the other witnesses. Like Alistair, the Egyptian coven, the Irish coven. Christopher looked over at Bella putting Renesmee to bed in tent. Being around Renesmee the last few weeks had definitely reminded him of Paige.

"Thinking of your daughter?" Carlisle asked.

"Yeah." Christopher said. "I've never been away from her this long before. Nor have I missed a Christmas with her."

"I'm not sure exactly how this whole thing is going to go." Carlisle started. "But, I'll do everything I can to make you get back to your daughter."

"Thanks Carlisle." Christopher said. "But, I know you have no control over what's going to happen tomorrow." Carlisle just nodded.

As the night went on the vampires continued talk while Jacob and Renesmee slept.

Since everyone to know more about Christopher, since he had just shown up without Carlisle's knowledge, Carlisle and Christopher told stories of their human lives. As much as they could remember that is.

The next morning, everyone was getting ready to head to the field where they were going to meet the Volturi.

Once everyone was ready, they all started speeding to the field. They stopped when they got to the field.

Carlisle stepped forward, in front of everyone and Aro did the same.

"Aro." Carlisle said.

"Carlisle." Aro said. "I see you've brought an army up against me."

"I promise you, that was not my intention." Carlisle said.

"We see the child." Caius said.

"She is not immortal." Carlisle said. "You can look for yourself. See the flush of blood in her cheeks."

"I will gather all the information." Aro said. "But from someone more keen to the situation. Edward." He looked at Edward.

Edward stepped forward and walked over to Aro. He took Edward's hand.

"I'd like to meet her." Aro said, after a moment.

Edward looked at Bella.

Bella and Renesmee started walking towards them, with Jacob and Emmett following behind them.

"Hello Aro." Renesmee said, once they reached him. Renesmee put her hand to Aro's cheek.

After a moment, Aro spoke.

"Magnificent." He said. "Half mortal half immortal. Conceived and carried by Bella, while she was still human."

Bella took Renesmee hand again and walked back to their group.

"It's impossible for a vampire to conceive children." Caius said.

"Do you think they would fool me, brother?" Aro asked.

"Bring the informer." Caius said.

Irina walked forward and Caius asked her questions. After a minute, Caius ripped Irina's head off and set her body on fire.

"No!" Tanya and Kate said.

They ran after the Volturi, but Garrett and Emmett stopped them. Edward talked to Tanya and they walked back to the group.

"Aro, you see she's not immortal." Carlisle said.

"Agreed." Aro said. "But does it follow that there is no danger. For the first time, humans pose a threat to our kind. We know nothing of what these children will become."

All of a sudden, they saw Alice and Jasper walking by them and heading towards the Volturi. They were stopped by one of the guards.

"I have evidence that she will not be a risk." Alice said. "Let me show you."

Aro motioned for Alice to come forward. She walked over to him and him take her hand.

After a moment, Aro had a scared look on his face.

"Now you know." Alice said. "That's your future. Unless you decide on another course."

"The child still poses a threat." Caius said.

"But what if you were sure that she could remain concealed from the human world." Edward said. "Then, could we live in peace?"

"Of course." Caius said. "But that cannot be known."

"Actually, it can." Edward said.

Everyone looked at Edward and then saw two people walking towards.

"I've been searching for my own witnesses." Alice said. "Among the Tacuna tribes of Brazil."

"You have enough witnesses." Caius said.

"Let them speak." Aro said.

"I am half human half vampire, like the child." A man said. "A vampire seduced my mother and died giving birth to me. My aunt raised me. I turned her immortal."

"How old are you?" Bella asked.

"150 years." The guy answered.

"At what age did you reach maturity?" Aro asked.

"I became full grown seven years after my birth and haven't changed since then." The guy said.

"And your diet?" Aro asked.

"I can survive off of both blood and human food." The man said.

"These children are much like us." Marcus said.

"Yes." Aro agreed.

Everyone was quiet for a moment.

Aro looked at everyone part of the group on the other side of the field. He stopped at Christopher.

"I don't think we've had the pleasure of meeting." He spoke towards Christopher.

"Christopher." Christopher introduced.

"I can't help but noticing the resemblance between you and Carlisle." Aro said.

"We're brothers." Carlisle piped in.

"You never mentioned you had any other family like us." Aro said.

"I had thought him to bed until recently." Carlisle said. "We weren't turned together."

"And how, may I ask?" Aro directed towards Christopher. "You came to find out this whole thing."

"Rosalie and Emmett were recruiting witnesses where I live and I overheard." Christopher replied.

"Are we done here, Aro?" Carlisle questioned.

"For now." Aro answered. "But, be aware that we'll be keeping a close tab on your family."

"Understood." Carlisle said.

Each side went their separate ways.
