8. What to do...

T.K. pov:
During the break I got a call from Mateo and I picked up.
"T- T.K.?" a pretty nervous voice said.
"Mateo...? Is everything alright?" I asked.
"No. No- Not at all. Anna, she tried to kill herself. She- She cut both of her wrists. She's on her way to the hospital in an ambulance..."
"Wait, what?"
The others looked at me and they knew something was wrong thanks to my expression.
"They said they needed the space in the ambulance... I- I don't think it would be a good idea for me to get in my car... I-"
"Hey, Mateo. Calm down for a second. I get why you're freaking out but that won't make much difference right now. Anna's apartment wasn't that far from the station. Just walk back here then, okay?" I said but I was on edge too thanks to that news.
"Y- yea... I'm on my way..." his shaky voice said.
He hung up and the others looked at me.
"What's going on?" Marjan asked.
"I think Mateo saved Anna's life..."
"What?!" Paul and Judd said at the same time.
I swallowed and told them what Mateo told me.
"Oh my god..." Marjan said.
"No wonder that Probie got al shaky on the phone then..." Paul said.

Mateo arrived at the station a few moments later and his hands were still shaking and his pupils were really like stuck on their places.
Marjan walked to him and took his hands to make them stop shaking and then she hugged him.
"Calm down, okay... She'll be okay..." she said.
"I did everything I could to help her... Bu she already lost so much blood... What if-"
"No. Don't go like that, trust me. Then you'll drive yourself insane." Judd said.
"And he is right. Mateo, you did great. You probably saved Anna's life." my dad said.
"It was just... It was like a horror scene of a movie... She was just laying there in a puddle of blood and with her wrists cut like that... I..."
Mateo swallowed and I looked at him.
"Hey... It's okay now..." I said and he just burst.
Then all of us basically dragged him into a grouphug.
The alarm went of that we had to go to a call and my dad looked at Mateo.
"Do you want to sit this one out to calm down a bit?" he asked and Mateo shoke his head.
"No... Then I'll overthink things."
"Okay, let's go then. But try not to make mistakes now you're worried about Anna..." Judd said softly and Marjan gave him a soft nudge.
"Just saying..." he muttered and we hurried to the call.

There was a car accident, a mother and her son were in one car which drove straught into a car because the mother passed out for some reason.
The boy was worried and scared a lot.
"Okay, Judd, Paul get the woman out of the car. Marjan and Mateo take care of the boy." my dad said.
"TK, Nancy, give the woman the care she needs I'll take care of the boy, okay?" captain Vega said.
"Aye cap." Judd and I said at the same time to our own captains.

Mateo pov:
The boy was really scared and Marjan looked at him.
"Hey kid, what's your name?" she asked.
"T- Tyler..." the boy said and I looked at him.
"It's going to be okay Tyler, we'll get you out of there." I said.
"What about my mom? I- Is she going to be okay too?" Tyler asked and Marjan looked towards the others who did CPR on his mom but it was kinda obvious that she was gone.
"Let's focus on you now first, okay?" she said and Tyler had tears in his eyes.
"What about my mom?"
I looked at him.
"She would want what's best for you, okay?" I said and he agreed with us so we could do our job.

But once we got him out, he saw how they brought his mom away, that she was dead...
"Mom...?" he said softly and then the hard part, him knowing his mom was gone.
Captain Strand walked to us and tried to calm the kid down, but Tyler was yelling and crying, loudly.
For me it was weird, seeing that dead woman. It made me think about what could've happend if I didn't go to Anna... 
Then she could've been dead too by now...

After the shift f the next day we hung out at T.K. and Carlos their place again and I sended a text to Anna.
'Call me soon, okay?' it said and I sended it.
It was delivered but she didn't read it.
"I thought she got out of the hospital his morning..." I muttered.
"Maybe she tried to kill herself again." Judd said and we all looked at him.
"Dude." Paul said.
"I was just joking..." he said quickly.
"The reason why she didn't read it was because she was in her car on her way here." a voice said and I turned
"Anna!" Marjan said.
Anna looked at me and instead of me saying something, I walked o her and just kissed Anna right on the spot.
"Damn Probie!" Marjan said while she chuckled and Anna looked at me.
"Damn indeed..." she said with a kinda shocked face which quickly turned into a smile as she grabbed my collar and kissed me again.
