Chapter 8

Author’s Note

Sorry I have not written in a long time but this is going to be an intense chapter and the story is almost over! :)

I decided to not sit there any longer, my mom was about to get a piece of my mind. I took a deep breath and walked to my mom.

“What do you think you are doing, talking to her like that?” trying to sound the way that I felt.

“Carley, were you listening to our conversation?”

“Yes, and I do not approve of how you talked to her.”

She sat there, speechless. She then said,

“What do you think you are doing, talking to me like that?”

“I know you don’t approve of her, but I do because was a better mother than you ever were to me!”

I was starting to scream but I honestly didn’t care.

“What do you mean by that?”

“Putting your boyfriend before your own daughter, how rude is that!”

“I feel like you are being ridiculous.”

“What I think is ridiculous is that I thought that Mrs. Murphy was going to be worst than you when honestly it is the other way around.”

“You have crossed the line, you are going to regret this.”

“Oh ya, try me.”

My mom and I were both breathing so hard I am surprised we both have oxygen in our body.

Then, before I could blink my mom hit me.

I open my eyes. I feel like just a few months ago, before I went to the Murphys. All I can think is, what happened? The last thing I saw is my mother hitting me, in public.

I then look at me. I see some brusies and I am in bed, a hospital bed. She most of blacked me out, how rude she is. I can’t believe she is my mother.

I am very sorry about the way that I talked to her but honestly, I didn’t want to go back to her in the first place.

The door then opens. It is Mrs. Murphy.

“Carley!” She comes and gives me a hug.

“Hi,” I say, smiling.

“How do you feel?”

“Ok, but what happened??”

“Your mom hit you and then you blacked out. She did more things to you to see if you were alive that she hurt you badly.”

“Oh my, what’s going to happen to her?”

“She is going to be taken away from you, you will be staying with us for a while until you find a permanent home.”

I was speechless.

“You better rest,” she said kindly.

She started to leave but then I said,

“Could I stay with you forever?”

It was then her turn to be speechless.
