Hello. I'm Fox Galloway, and I volunteered as a tribute for the Hunger Games. I am 15 years old, and I had no idea I would be put into an arena with blood-shedding beasts. When my little brother was called upon for the Hunger Games, my heart stopped. I volunteered, and became the second person in District 12 to volunteer.
Now I was in a tube, going up into the hunger games arena. My heart was bursting out of my chest. I had no idea if I was going to live or die. My guts had nervous instincts, and I had no idea if I was going to have allies, or enemies..
Either way, I wasn't going to win for myself. I'm winning for my father. For my brother. For my mother.
Sadly, my mother had died due to the capitol's destroying our district. But president Snow said the games must go on. That's when I knew that if I was called, I would have to fight the same way Katniss Everdeen did; Fight in your own battle.
I slid up onto a circular platform, and looked around. A clock was ticking from one minute to zero. I literally had no idea what I would do; get a pair of bow and arrows and a bag of supplies, or run for my own sake.
The time was counting down now from 10 seconds, and I decided to run for the weapons and supplies.
The numbers boomed through the island.

3...
2...
Then we were off. One was killed from stepping off of the platform too soon. But I knew better.
I quickly ran for a pair of bow and arrows, and a bag of supplies. Then I headed for the forest.
Running, I heard 5 cannons go off. My face was throbbing with fear and pressure as I ran faster.
My fear had ended as I climbed up a tall tree. I rested my head against the bark of the tree and opened my supply bag.
Inside was an empty water bottle, a rope, a first aid kit and a few loaves of bread. Relief swam over me. I had at least some survival skills.
Suddenly, 2 more cannons blew into the air. I closed my eyes, and remembered that it wasn't me. Even if it was, I would be a hero either way.
