"hmm, what could be it? damn i fucking hate statistics," yuna exclaimed to herself
she's in a cafe near their university, a few hours before their second sem exam. she's currently having a mental breakdown 'cuz she's not catching up with classes.
she's too busy working her ass off everyday that she forgot she's still on senior high.
she wanted to cry right there and then but a tall good-looking man with a cup of americano on his hand approached her
actually, two americanos.
"here, struggling i see?" he spoke, extending the other americano at yuna as he invited himself and sat beside the worn out girl
she accepted it without saying anything and drank it immediately, she didn't know what she drank but she kind of liked the taste
"excuse me, do i know you?" yuna asked the man beside her
'how tall is he?' she asked inside her head
"i'm a 6 footer," he replied, ignoring the first question
his attention outside the window, looking at the humans with a pokerface
"uhm... i didn't ask?" yuna confusedly spoke
'can he read minds?' she asked again but didn't received an answer
she let the man sat in there for awhile... well she thought. the man has been there for over an hour already and she can't focus.
"are you seriously not going to leave?" she irritatedly asked
the man shrugged his shoulders in response
"ugh," she grunts as she started packing her things
"where you going? you're not done yet, might as well finish the lessons before your exam?" the man didn't gave her a single glance when she stood up but what he said caught her attention
"excuse me?? how did you know I have an exam? are we classmates? or are you a stalker?" yuna exaggerated. she has never seen such face before so the second option must be it
the man chuckled, "I see, you didn't change my love." he said as he looked at her with amazement in his eyes
"w-what do you mean?" yuna flinches backward
"do i know you?" she added
"yes, you've known me for a long time now," the man scoffed, offended by her question
"how do i know you? i don't have any friends." yuna replied with furrowed eyebrows
"what's your name?" the man asked
"yuna, how about you?" eventhough she's puzzled by his sudden actions she still answered
"i'm lucifer, call me kai for it is my human name." the man named kai giggled
"you talk like you're some kind of actor, drop it! what do you want?" she asked, annoyance hinted on her voice
"you," short answer but it made yuna even more puzzled
"the fuck? this is the first time we've met! you can't be inlove with me, omg! are you?!" yuna's eyes widened by her own question
"yes, of course, i've been inlove with you for how many centuries (?) i can't count." kai replied calmly with a small smile
"you're mental." yuna laughed at him and as soon as she calm down she packed her things and go
but kai followed her still.
"shit, what do you want??" yuna wanted to cry from annoyance
"i already told you, i want you. come with me and i'll explain everything." kai gripped her wrist but she tried to remove it. TRIED.
"i have an exam!" she pouted, a few more minutes and she'll be late
"exams are the worst, you can skip it." kai frowned
"excuse me? i'll fail if i skip that thing." she replied her one arm crossing over her shoulder
"eleanor," he said
"what?" she asked, confused
"that was your name in your past life," they entered a black car and there they sat in silence
"how would you know that?" she asked almost stammering her words
"i told you, we've known each other for centuries now," he said calmly, staring at her face, waiting for her reaction
"you're bluffing. there's no such thing." yuna let out a nervous laugh
kai sighed, "this is your exact reaction back then when i approached you for the second time." he chuckled
"you were so pretty back then, but you look even prettier now." he complimented
yuna felt her heart thumping so bad like it's going to come out of her chest. her face getting red because it's the first time a gorgeous looking man complimented her.
"t-then, do i look the same? i mean, was my face then look like my face now?" she asked curiously
"yes, i wouldn't recognize you if not right?" he replied
"it's your third life. you were so hard to find. took me hundreds of years to see if you've existed again. damn, it was so hard. we've been married two times already by the way," kai had a small smile plastered on his face as he reminisces their memories together
yuna's just staring at him, listening to every words he says for his voice sounds so familiar
"why did you look for me?"
kai stared at her, "because i am in love with you. i can't stand seeing you with other boys, they are all pathetic." he said with a frown
yuna laughed, slowly feeling comfortable around the latter
yuna gasped, "if you've been around for centuries how come you're still alive?"
"this is why i want you to be immortal too, aish." he groaned
"as i said, i am lucifer. you're the one who named me kai," he grunts
"you're LUCIFER? as in the devil?!?" she gasped, eyes widening by the revelation
"yes, are you afraid?"
"no, they did say lucifer was handsome but they didn't say he was THIS handsome," yuna complimented making kai shock slightly
"will you come with me in hell, then?" he extended his hand
"WHAT?! I'M STILL ALIVE AND I DOUBT I'LL EVER-" yuna's sentence cut short when kai flicked her forehead
"you love to exaggerate, don't you? hell is not what you humans think it is, and i will only make you immortal so that you don't have to die and disappear again for another century," he solemnly spoke
"what if i don't want to be immortal?" yuna sadly asked
kai stared at her, a sad smile slowly forming on his lips, "i knew you would say that,"
"did you try to convince me too back then to become immortal?" yuna sadly asks
"yes, and you reject me every single time." he said, pain hinted on his voice
"i see," was all yuna could say.
"it's okay, we'll just have to do everything we did then until that day comes," kai smiled bitterly, he have to suffer again and watch his loved one die of old age. it is indeed painful, but if she doesn't to be immortal then he'll accept it.

after their first encounter in this life, yuna and kai continued seeing one another
until they slowly get close, and fall for each other. again.
well not for kai tho, he's been inlove with the girl for many years. and that will never change, for he fell even more harder with the girl who was born in the 20th century.
