Joey's birthday approached and Sirius had recruited the Marauders to organize the in his words 'most spectacular birthday party ever'.

It was going quite well considering that James and Peter just started a confetti fight.

"Those idiots," muttered Sirius, who'd been busy setting up the fireworks with Remus. Lily looked at Sirius with a mixture of bewilderment and amusement, making Remus realize Lily was not familiar with Sirius' nervousness when it came to his girl. "He really loves her." Remus whispered to the redhead who just set up some muggle fire extinguishers.
"I can tell." She murmured biting back a smile.

"Guys, not to alarm you or anything," Peter fiddled with some of the banners, "but James started a little fire." Remus dropped what he was doing and went to tend to James, who indeed had set a banner on fire. "You were hanging up banners!" Remus looked at the fire that Lily was already already putting out with a flick of her wand. "How on earth do you start a fire when you're hanging up banners!"
"Pure Talent."
"James," Sirius said, his voice deathly calm, "you are my best friend, but please leave."
"What am I supposed to do?"
"Count the trees in the forbidden forest for all I care."
James looked at his best friend smirking, "You are completely whipped."
The Marauders started laughing while Sirius blushed.
"Who is keeping her away from the common room?" Peter suddenly asked, making Remus slap his hand against his forehead, he knew he had forgotten something.
"Don't worry, I recruited Quentin." Sirius said smugly.
"Isn't the brother of the girl you are dating supposed to hate you?"
"What can I say? I am charming and irresistible."
Lily fake gagged, making the marauders, minus Sirius, burst out in laughter.
"What did you tell her that made her believe you can't hang out with her on her birthday?" Lily asked, wiping away the tears of laughter running down her face.
"I have to study for Newts."
"And she believed you?"
"Hey! I do work for school." Lily raised her eyebrows.
"Okay, I might have told her Remus forced me to."
"Sirius!" Remus groaned, "she will hate me for this."
"She will know it was a fake as soon as I get her, anyway."
Remus grumbled something under his breath while hanging up another banner with magic.
On the other end of the castle, Joey was led to the clock tower by her brother.

"Quen, why can't we just read in the library like normal people."

"Because that means people will be there." He said, looking utterly disgusted.

"Hey Joey," a smooth voice stopped the bickering between the siblings.

"Nicolette," Joey breathed, her mouth immediately pressing into a thin line.

"I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday." She said biting her lip and even though the gesture seemed innocent enough, Joey didn't trust Nicolette at all, "I mean the both of you, you are twins, right?"

"Yes, thank you."

"Any time, we'll see each other in class."

"Yeah, see you." Joey pressed out as Nicolette gave her one last bright smile before disappearing behind the next corner.
