"Cas? is that really you?? oh god don't tell me I'm seeing things again- it's bad just as it is-" Dean started to ramble clearly not keen on believing the site in front of him.
Castiel sighed,
"It really is me Dean, Jack pulled me back before he left"
"Then what the hell took you so long man!?"
"I- Dean, I wasn't sure if I should come back-"
"Why the hell not Cass?? why would you think that?!" Dean said, frowning slightly"
"Look Dean, after what happened that day- I really wasn't sure how you'd take to me just showing up again. I mean, I do not expect you to reciprocate my feelings Dean I've already established that and I did what I did because I had to Dean I had to save you-"
"look, man, I'm just glad you're back and-
and I had some time to think about it-
I mean, I never thought you'd be back but all I did was think about you ever since you left" Dean said, chuckling lightly.
"I must apologise if I'd made you uncomfortable back then Dean we can avoid talking about this at all if it upsets you"
"Cass Cass just hear me out, please. No I don't hate it. No it did not make me uncomfortable. it's just, it took me some time to process and by the time I did that you were already gone and I never had the chance to tell you what I really felt Castiel" Dean, was standing now, inches away from Cas's face.
"Hah, you called me by my first name after so long Dean, I'm kind of taken off guard"
Dean was genuinely smiling now, his eyes inexplicably drifting towards the other man's lips.
"Hey Cas, would you mind if I kiss you right now?"
"Uh- Dean- are you joking??" Cas said almost choking on air.
"Do I look like I am??"
"um sure then go ahead De-
Dean's lips were on his before he could finish the sentence. 12 years of pining, 12 years of unspoken feelings bursting out all together. It was fiery at first but then it gradually turned into a soft gentle one. neither of them wanting to let the other go, as if the moment would fade away like a dream if they did. Dean finally pulled away, gasping for breath.
He cupped Castiel's face, staring into those flaming blue eyes, bursting with life and feeling like he could drown in them-
"I love you Cas"
"I- I love you too Dean"
