Asked by Shirogane Kei,

Was the strangest,

Yet most intellectual question I've received from this girl.

"W-what's with this question that you're suddenly asking?" I asked

"Shiro, please answer me." said Kei while leaning in closer to me. "What am I to you?"

Woah woah slow down a bit..

Uh..

We're friends..right?

I mean,

We are close..

But it's just that..

Right..?

Wait why am I even hesitating? It's obvious that the relationship between the two of us is a friend-status..

..right..

Friends..

"Kei, you-"

Before I could answer her, the front door of the apartment had opened.

"I'm home.." said the person. Sounded like Miyuki-san.

The door of the bedroom had opened and Miyuki-san entered the room.

"I heared that you caught a cold, Kei-chan."

"Y-yeah.." said Kei with a stuffy nose

Miyuki-san squat down near Kei's side.

"Thanks for looking after her, Ayato. I'll take it from here."

"I didn't do much." I said while getting up. "I'll go back to my house."

"T-thanks Shiro." said Kei while getting up. 

"Yeah, later Kei."

I put on my shoes and opened the door, leaving the Shirogane-household.

Thinking back, what WAS I going to say?

We're friends?

...

Close friends?

...

Or is that only how I feel about our relationship..

It's been exactly 12 days since Kei had caught a cold. I visited her quite often, buying her her favorite popsicles while she was so reluctant in me buying it for her. I was also making her comfort foods and helped her with some school work.

It was currently Friday, the last day before Winter break started.

I was just sitting on my couch, eating some chips while watching some TV shows.

Before anything else happened, I heard the doorbell ring.

"Coming~" I said lazingly

I paused my show and walked over to the front door. I opened it and saw my ex,

Aya.

"Aya?"

"Hi Tokkun!"

"Did you need something?"

"Not really. I just wanted to come over."

Aya's the most tenacious girl I know,

So there's really no point in protesting.
