“Demons have made an impact in television, however their powers are misconstrued. Over ninety percent are simple tricksters and deviants. A whisper in the ears of gullible men. This is not the case for the other 10%. Including one Orintus Berinar, otherwise known as Oingo Boingo. A demon haunting the animatronic jester mascot of long closed Jessie’s Pizza Castle in the outer city border of Portland”

-Vladamir Mitchell, Demonology Expert.

The witch in training Harriet and her vegetated familiar Tony Seeds make their way through Oregon Route 213. Harriet looks over to her rear view mirror to see her smiling pumpkin companion looking all three hundred and sixty degrees. The vines that make up his neck twist and turn his dark orange head, taking in all these wondrous and new sights of trees and highway roads. The Sorceress giggles to herself as she drives the scooter. An old highway sign catches her eye.

“ COME TO JESSIE’S PIZZA CASTLE!  TAKE THE NEXT RIGHT! JUST TRY AND SUE US YOU BALL CAPPED RAT!”

Harriet raises her eyebrows and takes the next exit, parking in front of the children's restaurant. The two stand off the scooter and look at the hollowed and abandoned pizza castle. The sorceress stares in disbelief.

“Awwww It’s closed?! That’s so lame!” Harriet complains into the empty parking lot.

“Is this the mossy place?” Tony asks in confusion.

“No no, this is a stop. My parents used to take me here when I was little.” Harriet explains, realizing Tony would have no concept of what a parent is.

“Tony no understand.” Tony states.

“Okay, so. I made you with magic a few hours ago. But you are not human like me Tony. Humans are made by parents. A mom and a dad.” Harriet struggles to simplify. Tony looks down blankly at his creatress.

“So… Harriet is parent? Harriet is… dad?”

“Hehehe, no. Harriet is like a mom. But my parents aren’t around.” Harriet says with a deflected tone.

“Harriet’s mom and dad not here at place. Just Harriet and Tony.” Tony says bluntly.

“Yes, But I mean they have been gone for a long time. Not just here. I don’t want to talk about it. I just wanted to stop by here on our way. My mom would take me here once a month if I did well in school. I’ll explain what school is later. Sad to see that they closed it though.” as Harriet turned back to the scooter, taking a breath to calm herself, Tony grabs at her shoulder.

“Tony see dark thing. In the empty place.” Tony stares straight into the windows of the  restaurant. Harriet adjusts her glasses and looks into the windows.

“Tony. There is no one there. It has probably been abandoned for a while.” Harriet tells her familiar in disbelief.

“Not person. Person have bright thing. You have nice bright around you. Wick have calm thing around him. This is… what word. Dark and bad.” Tony explains to the best of his ability in his chopped english.

“Hmm. Dark thing, bright thing, calm thing. Around us? Auras? Do they look like big swirlies? Like this?” Harriet draws swirling clouds around her with her fingers. Tony nods his head in agreement.

“YES. big… swirls. All around mom Harriet. Big...” Tony looks around and points at a yellow flower weed coming out of the cracks of the asphalt. “That! Swirlies but that!”

“Yellow? Big yellow aura? Big dark aura? Dark like what. Can you point at it for me?” the witch investigates. Tony points to the asphalt. “Black? Hm. Best to leave that alone. Dark black aura’s are typically a bad thing.” The diviner cautions
