Chapter 1- The Beginning

Hey guys! This is my first time making a story on here. Omg, I know this chapter may be a bit boring but just bear with me! Heh, you guys have to wait a bit till Violet interacts with Levi but it will soon :) Also, if you haven't watched Attack On Titan I don't recommend you guys reading this. It has been over a century since we, the humans, were surrounded by and lived by three wall settlements that were 50 meters tall. Wall Maria, Wall Rose, and Wall Sina. These walls prevented titans from harming humans. Titans are huge man-eating monsters. But one day it all changed, a huge titan called the Colossal Titan headed its way to destroy the gate to Shiganshina District. This caused titans to enter the gate into the walls and cause destruction within it. The town immediately erupts into a huge wave of panic trying to escape. When everyone was trying to escape and soldiers were defending the humans, the Armored Titan crashed into the gate that the soldiers were trying to close to prevent even more titans from coming in. This caused the insiders to retreat farther into the walls. During this time, I was roughly about 10 years old at the time in an orphanage in Trost District. Everyone found out from the newspapers and it was terrifying. This made me think a lot about what I wanted to do in my life. I wanted to get rid of the titans. But, here I am standing with the new Recruits of the 104th Cadet Corps.

I was very nervous standing with all of the new recruits. I was standing next to my best friend, Marco. I met him when I was 6 years old. He was really charismatic and friendly. I convinced him to join the Cadet Corps with me. I finally snapped out of my daydream when suddenly our instructor, Keith Shadis, yelled, "Hey, Kid!". Everyone looked to where he was yelling. It was a boy around my age. He had blonde hair that was in length near his shoulders. The boy in his salute stance yelled back, "Sir!".

"Who the hell are you?" Our instructor asked.

"I'm Armin Arlert From Shiganshina, Sir!" Armin replied.

"Is that so? A name fit for a retard! Your parents named you that?"

I slowly chuckled but without the instructor knowing cause I knew he would beat my ass if he saw me laughing.

"It was my grandfather, sir!" Armin replied.

"Arlet, why are you here?"

"To contribute to humanity's victory, sir!"

He then said other stuff that I wasn't really paying attention to. Then he went on with the others. I mostly paid attention to Armin, Jean, Eren, Mikasa, Connie, Sasha, Reinier, and Bertolt's introduction and that was about it. Suddenly, our Instructor yelled at me.

"And who the hell are you?" He yelled.

"I am Violet Yamamoto from Trost District, Sir!" I replied.

"What a nice name for a maggot like you".

"Bruh, did he just say that to me? Oh how I want to punch him in the face right now," I thought to myself.

"Why are you here, Cadet?" He asked.

"To exterminate the titans and save humanity, Sir!"

"How inspirational, Cadet".

Right next to me was Marco which means he was going next.

I couldn't convince him to join the scouts with me. He preferred to join the military police and stay in the interior.

"AND WHO THE HELL ARE YOU? WHAT DID YOU COME HERE FOR?" Yelled the Instructor.

Oh my gosh- I swear if Marco says anything of him wanting to get into the Military Police he is so dead.

"I'm Marco Bott from Trost District, in Wall Rose's southern side, Sir! I came to join the Military Police Brigade and pledge myself to the King!"

"Is that so? Goodman. A noble objective. But remember, the king doesn't want you."

There were more soldiers introducing themselves. It was quite boring actually. Today our instructor said there wasn't anything to do and we just needed to rest for tomorrow's actual day to start training.

Marco, Jean, and I were walking over to the cafeteria.

"Violet, I'm going to sit next to some of my new friends that I just met, would you like to come?" Marco asked.

"Nah I'm good Marco I will stay with Jean."

Jean and I walked to a table where Mikasa, Eren, and Armin were sitting.

"Violet, Here are some of my friends that I would like to introduce you to," Jean said

I nodded and introduced myself.

We sat down and ate our food while we were talking. I kinda liked them and from there we became good friends. I caught Jean's look towards Mikasa, it seems like he has a little crush on someone.

"Ugh, the instructor is a pain in the ass," Eren said.

"Ugh do please tell", Armin said.

Mikasa was fairly quiet. She was sitting next to Sasha.

"Ooo Violet, are you dating Marco?" Eren asked.

"Uh, WHAT NOOO! WE ARE JUST CHILDHOOD FRIENDS THAT'S ALL!"

"What about Horse Face Jean over here?" Eren smirked.

"This Idiot? NEVER".

Jean glared at us like he was going to stab us.

Later on, Eren was surrounded by everyone asking him about the Colossal Titan. He was still eating his soup while everyone was around him. I stood next to Eren and watched the small crowd asking him small questions like its size, its strength, and the type of titan that it was.

Until one part a guy asked, "Th-Then, what are normal Titans like?"

Eren was grabbing a spoonful of soup and stopped immediately when the guy asked that. He had a disturbed look on his face. Just then everything went silent as Eren dropped his spoon in the soup. I knew I had to stop them from asking any further questions.

"Um Guys, I think that is enough questions. I am sure he has memories he'd rather not relive." I stammered.

"Yeah Guys," Marco said after me.

They all apologized but Eren still continued going at it. He kept saying that Titans were not a threat to us and that we can take them down easily. Stuff like that. He even said that he wanted to join the Scouts which I also wanted to join. Everyone was silent until Jean got up from his seat.

"Dude, are you nuts? Did you just say you want to join the Recon Corps"

Oh god, not the horse dude again.

Eren got up and said, "Damn straight. And you're planning to join the military Police Brigade to take it easy, right?"

They started to say shit to each other and I knew damn right they were gonna fight but I wanted to see what would happen so I didn't do anything just then.

They suddenly stood up and got right in their faces. I knew this wasn't gonna end well.
