As the family unpacked Jen slowly snuck over to the door of the house. when she tried to open the door it wouldn't budge, so she started to jiggle the door. It finally flew open with a crash as it gave way. The room was dark and smelled of saturated wood with a musky odor. Jen quickly turned on the lights, yet when she put her hand on the switch it wouldn't turn on. seconds later the old clouded light bulbs began to flicker on.
The view in front of her was enough to make her skin crawl. The moldy torn up curtains shifted in the breeze, the old pine wood floors were rotting and gouged up, and the walls were covered in claw marks and dirt. just then Jen heard the faintest sound she had ever heard, it was the sound of a music box.
That wasn't the part that set her off it was the two yellow eyes she had just found staring at her. The owner of those eyes was not passive, it was slowly coming towards her with a thumping sound. "Thump, uh haha" that was the last straw for Jen, she ran out of the door as fast as she could.
