The Past

Father

Naruto stood there in a defensive stance with Boruto on his back, facing off against the black zetsu.
Sasuke ran towards the group, in hopes of being able to intercept black Zetsu's attack.

" At this pace, there's no chance that I'll be able to get to where those two are!" Sasuke analyized, as he continued to run towards the impending battle.

Naruto stared at the black zetsu, and tried to guess his next move. But, the Zetsu made no move, and only stood there. Suddenly, the Zetsu started violently coughing up blood, while screaming in pain.
" Wh-What's happened to him?! Did Sasuke's attacks get to him only now?!" Naruto asked himself, watching the Zetsu fall to the floor.
Hearing Sasuke come up behind him, Naruto decided to leave the Zetsu with Sasuke, as he made his way back to the village with Boruto.
" It's over for you now. This'll teach you to mess with the leaf village, and my best friend!" Sasuke declared, firing a Chidori directly to the Zetsu's heart.
After watching the Zetsu disintagrate, Sasuke caught up to Naruto.
" We'll never hear from him again.. I made sure of it." Sasuke said.
" This sucks! I didn't get to do any fighting because I lost my powers-" Naruto paused, " WAIT! Since we defeated the man who cut off my powers, doesn't that mean that my power is back now?!"
" I think so, your whiskers are back now too, so it's worth a shot."
" Ok here goes!" Naruto said, summoning two clones. They started forming a bright blue ball in their hands, and have it back to the original and disappeared in clouds of smoke.
" Rasengan!" He shouted, thrusting the ball into the nearby tree. He laughed with content as the tree fell down.
" I'M BACK!" He cheered, prancing around the forest like a young kid.
" Let's just hurry back to the village and have Sakura heal your son, dobe." Sasuke said, walking ahead.
"EH?! Wait up Sasuke!" The blonde yelled behind him.

Arriving in the village, there were two women standing in front of the Hokage's office,which caused Naruto and Sasuke to shake in fear.
" S-SAKURA AND HINATA CHAN!" They said in unison, eyes widened in fear.
" Naruto, I heard that you let Boruto get kidnapped, and set out to save him." Sakura said, assessing the situation.
Hinata's gaze met Boruto, who was on Naruto's back, and looked horrified on how bruised her son was. Walking over to a terrified Naruto, Hinata stared at him dead in the eyes.
" Hinata! I'm so sorry! I promise I will make it up to you!" Naruto pleaded.
Hinata slapped Naruto on his cheek, and then enveloped him in a hug, with tears brimming down her cheeks.
" I'm just glad you both are okay.." she said.
Meanwhile, Sakura has been yelling at Sasuke about leaving we and Salada without warning for such a long period of time. Naruto glanced over and immediately felt sorry for dragging Sasuke along on his quest, and reluctantly walked over to the two of them.
" Um.. Sakura? It's my fault that Sasuke left so suddenly and for so long, he just wanted to help me rescue bolt! If anyone should be lectured it's me. " Naruto explained, trying to sound as persuasive as possible.

Sakura looked as if she was about to hit Naruto with one of her signature punches, but had put her hand down and sighed.
" Naruto, you never change to you? Baka (idiot)...." Sakura said.
After bringing Bolt to the hospital, he was fully recovered thanks to medical ninjutsu, and rejoined his sister at home.
So after everything calmed down, Naruto and Sasuke told them about the trip they had together. Occasionally there were comments by the women, about their input on the situation. But at the end of the story, the entire group was laughing just like when they were kids all over again.
It really was just like the past...
