Day 2 of the boring weekend. Within the length of the night, Seonghwa had finished the last of the drama. He was fucking up his sleep pattern, but he really didn't care. The ending had been pretty standard: guy gets the girl, enemy gets his retribution, they live happily ever after... completely cliché, but it also made him wonder if he himself would ever get his happy ending. It was such childish, wishful thinking, although sometimes the childish wishes are the ones we desire most.
Lying on the bed spread legged on top of the blanket, it occurred to him how truly alone he was in this world. Billions of people in this world, and he could feel so lonely. He also knew, however, that he wasn't the only one sharing this sentimentality. Many other people did too, he just didn't know who they were yet. Maybe one of these other poor souls was the one for him. He sighed, closing his eyes and drifting off for a second.
His short nap was cut even shorter by a loud, decisive knocking on his front door. Wondering who it could be, he got up and strode to the living room. As soon as he opened the main door, he was greeted by a loud, energetic, "Morning, hyung!" It was Jongho.
"Good morning, Jong. What brings you here at this hour? Did something happen?"
"Well, if I told you, you'd find it ridiculous."
"Who says I would? C'mon tell me."
"We have a favour to ask, Hwa hyung. Could you um," He tapped the tip of his slipper against the carpeted floor nervously. "Would you come over and play video games with us? Sannie and I are bored, and neither of us are working today. We've already roped in Hongjoong hyung, but the more the merrier. It isn't fun playing two players cause I always end up winning."
That was it?!
"That's all?" Seonghwa let out a laugh in disbelief while Jongho nodded his head. "Yeah, that's all. So, are you up for it?"
"Oh, you bet! Let me just change my clothes and I'll be over."
"Oh, please don't, hyung. We're pretending it's a sleepover. Just come over in what you're wearing now and you should fit right in." "If you say so." Seonghwa grabbed his keys and phone before following Jongho across the hall and into the siblings' apartment. "Fair warning, I'm not good at games at all."
"Don't worry, we're all apparently bad at games. I only win because it's between me and Sannie."
As he entered, the first thing Seonghwa noticed was Hongjoong, slouched on the sofa as though he had no backbone, and the pink-haired seated on the floor with his legs outstretched, leaning against the base of the couch. "Morning, Joong, San." "Mornin'."
"Jongie managed to convince you?" "Nah, I'm just bored out of my mind. Let's play!"
They played a round of rock, paper, scissors to determine the order they would select characters: and Jongho won, where he chosed to go in a counterclockwise order, meaning Seonghwa next, followed by Hongjoong then San. The brothers truly had some weird rivalry going on. It was the most intense Mario Party game any one of them had ever played... except for maybe the Choi siblings.
The 'all for themselves' battles were a sight to see, especially the minigame 'Camera Shy', which may have scared the heck out of some people when they rounded a corner and bumped into an opponent. A fair amount of curses came out of it too. But the best one had to be the ones involving luck, which were also the likeliest to be fight inducing. Clearly, Hongjoong and Seonghwa both did not have lady luck smiling on them. They kept drawing the bowser hammer or low number cards in 'Chips and Dips', picking up the ropes without fishes in 'Cheep Cheep Chance', and dressing the character heads with the most bizarre, unmatching clothes. Each time, however, they'd just laugh at their misfortune.
