*in the present*

Seonghwa walked back to the couch, and wrapped himself in the blanket once again, pressing his side against the other's, who likewise did the same.

"And to think that was all just a week ago," Yunho mentioned with a tearful smile. "Wouldn't have that week any other way," The older added, gently prodding his lover's nose, causing him to giggle. "You're worth all the time and effort."

The record player repeated its verse over and over, but neither made a move to stop it, blissfully savouring their time of comfort together. It was past midnight when they finally both fell into slumber, resting against each other whilst seated on the sofa. In his sleep, Yunho clasped Seonghwa tighter to his chest, as if to penetrate his heart: never leaving the boundaries of his love.

And unconsciously, the other smiled.

.

.

"Yunho, pup, wake up."

"Unghzzz..."

"Come on." The elder found both of Yunho's hands in the blanket, grasped them tightly, and pulled the drowsy one into a sitting position.

"Hwaaaa, I wanna sleeeep." His entire body, limp as noodles, swayed and collapsed back onto the couch, pulling the blanket over his head as assurance. This kid. Seonghwa shook his head, a devilish glint in his eye. He dove onto the younger, mercilessly tickling him through the covers. "Aaaaaah nooooo Hwaaaa stopppp ooookay I'mmm uuuppppp."

Yunho sat bolt upright, hair tousled from his squirming under the quilt, which had flopped to the floor. "Look," he glared at Seonghwa, "Blankie yeeted itself out, have mercy on it." "Otherwise, what?" "Otherwise, it shall strangle you in your sleep. They have feelings."

"Oh okay." Seonghwa was taking no bullshit today.

"Why don't you believe me?" Yunho pouted, crossing his arms and sulking.

"It's too far-fetched," Seonghwa replied, taking breakfast supplies from the fridge. A mischievous smirk spread on the younger's face as he picked the quilt up from the floor, covering himself with it and sneaking over, standing directly behind the older.

"Looks like we're out again. Is it alright if we AAAH- Yun, don't sneak up like that."

"Now, do you believe me?"

"Yes, yes oh dear god."

.

.

After a scrumptious breakfast, the two bade each other goodbye, Seonghwa headed for the grocery store while Yunho to the dance academy. Nothing too exciting happened through the hours, that is, until the younger called Seonghwa to inform him of his return. "Hey, Hwa, I'm coming back now."

"I'm right here."

He looked down the street to where he had parked the car, only to see the elder leaning on the wall next to it, looking right at him as he held the phone to his face, talking over speakerphone, an endearing smile appearing as he caught sight of the younger.

"Oh!" Yunho ended the call immediately, calling out as he clomped over, "Why are you here?"

"Is it wrong for me to want to pick my boyfriend up from work?"

"N-no, it's just that you don't normally do this- "

"How about we go on that third date today?"

"Really? Yes!"

Turns out the third date plans was just pizza, popcorn chicken and movies, but Yunho didn't mind, as long as it was with the one he loved. Halfway through the third movie, however, he felt his eyelids droop, and he soon fell asleep, though subconsciously, he heard the tv off, a warm hand ruffle his hair, before feeling a peck on his cheek. "I love you, Yunho, forever."

.

.

"Hwa hyung, WAKE UP!" Seonghwa awoke instantly, looking around in a panic. "Where's the fire?"

The younger grinned cheekily. "There isn't any fire. Come on, come watch the sun rise." He skittered off down the hallway, leaving the other still in bed, shaking his head.

Despite their differences, Yunho would never change, but hey, nothing's ever perfect.

Seonghwa got out off bed, lurching slightly as though drunk as he made his way to the living room, where Yunho was already stood at the balcony, revelling in the cool morning air.

"Hurry up!" the younger hurried out and dragged his lover over.

They weren't the only ones up early. From out the next unit shuffled a blue-haired gent, nursing a cup of coffee.

"Good morning, Joong. Had a good rest?"

"I would have, if your boyfriend hadn't shouted at such an early hour." He took another sip. "Anyway, I'll leave y'all to yourselves." He turned and left the balcony, while the couple turned to each other.

"You really need to stop shouting in the morning."

"You won't have me any other way."

"True but-" His words were cut off by Yunho pressing his lips against his, both pairs of eyes fluttering close as the feeling of affection exploded. "No buts about it."

The couple leaned against the wall of the balcony, gazing over the neighbourhood as the streets awoke, bustling with the early morning traffic, the streetlamps turning off as day broke. And as the horizon rose between the buildings, Yunho rested his head on Seonghwa's shoulder, saying in a whisper as soft as the breeze. "I love you, Hwa, forever."

There is no fear now, let go and just be free, I will love you unconditionally
