By now Vincent had run up the stairs and into the foyer of the house. Nick and Bo were still heavily fighting against each other, blood trailed down the Sinclair brothers nose and both of the fighters could feel sweat trickling down their heated bodies.
Their grunts were the only thing Vincent heard as he approached the doorway.
Bo immediately recognized the tall form of his twin and his eyes lit up. He grabbed Nick's shoulders, twirling them around a few times. It was quite an ironic sight, the two enemies swiveling around like a couple of young lovers. If the situation was less serious Vincent might have laughed.
After the pair stopped "dancing" Bo smashed Nick's body into the ground making him groan in pain.
"You're finished.", Bo stated as he approached Nick with an intimidating confidence in his step. Pulling him up by his collar and then travelling up to his neck, Bo's hands started choking Carly's brother.
Nick tried to fight back, searching for something that might help him but it was too late. Suddenly a sharp blade pierced through his left eye, making him go limb in Bo's hands. The blade retreated and Bo let go of Nick's body, revealing the other Sinclair twin with one of his dragon-blades in his hand.
At that point Carly opened her eyes. She felt a giant throbbing pain in the back of her skull though she soon noticed that that would be one of her smaller problems. Her gaze trailed over the two siblings in search of her own. They stopped when they recognized the corpse of Nick laying on the floor.
Blood poured out of his eye, the other one was wide open in shock though no more emotion could be seen in the azure orbs.
Carly froze in her movements. This was her twin. She had been with him since the beginning and now he was just gone? Gone without her even being able to say goodbye? A tiny part of her still assumed that Nick was fine, he'd stand up any minute and they would get out of here. Though more seconds passed and he still didn't move. He didn't even blink.
Carly nearly chuckled to herself as the irony of the situation hit her. She always felt as if though she'd be the first one to die. Nick just seemed so... immortal.
One time as a kid he jumped down a 25 feet deep cliff and dove into the ocean. It had been so scary. She herself had waited on top of the rocks, praying for him to be okay. He had climbed up the overhang ten minutes later, drenched and an adventurous smirk on his lips. Nick had never been afraid. Not once in his life.
Yet there he was. Carly's eyes started to tear up and her hands began to shake. She knew that it was her time now. She would die here. She would die today. Together her and Nick might have had a chance but it was too late now. She wasn't able to fight both of the Sinclair-twins. Carly was too tired to try any longer.
She closed her eyes and took a last deep breath as if to prepare herself. When she opened them again, Vincent was already trudging towards her, both knives at the ready.
She flicked the hair off her shoulders and revealed her neck to the tall man in front of her.
As the two blades severed her head from her shoulders, gushing thick blood down the white shirt, she swore she saw a hint of empathy in the bright blue eyes underneath the mask.
