I feel like because he can interact with electronics/machines that when you're playing video games or watching youtube with headphones/headset on that he would connect and scare you a little on purpose.
like(small fanfic, oneshot thing,idk): I was sitting playing minecraft intensely on my laptop when my music cuts out,I panic thinking I lost my hearing until I hear karl chuckle "you complete idiot" I say to him knowing he can hear me. "awee, so harsh hun,why so rude?" I pull my headphones off and stare at my screen "I took my headphones off,i'm not talking to you asshole" I say and glare at the wall; next thing I know hes bursting into the room and throwing himself on me "dont ignore me" he whines, I just laugh and shake my head at him.
(btw the person in this isnt meant to be mean,its just how they talk to each other)
