Together, Professor McGonagall and I walked towards the large Gargoyle at the end of the corridor. I stared in awe at the beautiful statue. The decor of the castle has to be one of my favourite things I've seen, so far.
"This way, Miss Harring," Professor McGonagall instructed. She continued walking towards the statue and stopped shortly to recite a word. The Gargoyle shook a little bit and then started to ascend, revealing a spiralled stairwell.
I followed McGonagall up the stairs and towards the large door. There, she knocked and entered after a voice called out. I feel like I'm in trouble. Never had I ever gone to a principal's office before and this feels just like that.
In the room stood professors of every subject, including Professors Snape, Moody, and Flitwick. The room was two stories. In between the two ascending spiralled stairs, towards a large library, was a large desk. Professor Dumbledore sat in the chair behind the desk. A cage sat on his right, holding his pet phoenix, Fawkes.
"Ah, Miss Harring, welcome," he greeted standing up. "Please, sit," he motioned towards the chair in front of his desk. Making my way over to the chair, I felt the eyes of the professors that were standing around the room. "How're you?"
"I— I'm good. Uh—"
Professor Snape looked over from me to Dumbledore and scowled, scoffing under his breath.
"I– I'm sorry, have I done something wrong?" I asked, not liking the snide looks he gave.
"You don't believe here," he said lowly
"Excuse me—?"
"You're just a muggle! This is impossible. Let's just Obliviate her. I don't know why Albus is entertaining the idea of this muggle—" Snape commented.
"Now, Severus, that's not very nice," Dumbledore cut him off. "You don't possibly see what I see."
"See what you— Are you reading my thoughts? That would be so like you!" I gasped. Quickly, I covered my mouth. That was rude.
"See! This insolent child. Talking back and—" But Professor McGonagall cut Snape off, "how do you know he would be able to do that? You're new, and a muggle."
"I—" as fast as I opened my mouth, I closed it.
"No, no. Go on! Tell them, Charlotte," Dumbledore encouraged.
"I don't want to offend—"
"Offend? Your presence is offending! Albus, just Obliviate her and send her back!" Snape suggested.
"Professor," I turned towards Snape, "you're so mean. Have I done something to you? Have I been rude in any sense? In any way? I didn't like you hated muggle's so much being your father was one!"
"What did you say?" he seethed. I looked up at Snape to see an angry look on his face.
"Please, go on, Charlotte. Tell everyone what you know," Dumbledore smiled lightly.
"Are you sure?" I raised a brow at him. He was never one of my favourite people.
"Positive."
"This might come off as odd," I started, Snape scoffed, "but y-you're actually all are characters in a book," I squeaked.
"A-a book?" Professor McGonagall stuttered. Everyone in the room stared at me as if I grew more heads.
"Yes, ma'am."
"That's preposterous!" Snape yelled.
"I'm being for real! You guys are all a part of a book called—" I stopped myself and bit my lip anxiously.
