Wen Jian could feel thousands of small blades prick at his skin. The cold sensation of each blade caused a small shiver. A few tears slipped out of his eyes. His body felt loose like his soul was going to slip away. It hadn't even been a minute since he forced his body into the world, but it felt like that was hours ago. Gritting his teeth, Wen Jian forced his eyes open.

A flash of white obscured his vision as the floating blue orb in front of him transformed into a field of trees looming over him. The pain still lingered in his body causing his body to give out and fall.

He muttered a slight curse under his breath. He had expected the world to reject his entrance, but not to this extent. A few dust clouds arose from underneath him.

Wen Jian stayed on the ground to take in his surroundings. The peaks of clouds could be seen floating above him. They were like tiny marshmallows in the sky. Forestry of trees surrounded him with a mixture of shrubbery.

Grass grew wildly, sprawling all over the ground. The tallest of the grass could reach up to his knees. Wild herbs surrounded the base of the trees. There was a broken log in front of him and Wen Jian could see a few mushrooms poking out from underneath.

A dirt pathway was carved out in the middle of it all, though it seemed to be jagged and was carelessly made.

Wen Jian took in a deep breath of the air. It was clean unlike the mortal realm's.

Despite the pain already beginning to fade away, Wen Jian decided to be extra precautious. Though the physical pain may be gone, his soul energy could have been damaged in the entry. He started up a mending formation created by the god of medicine.

As a youth, he was someone who always sneaked out. He couldn't sit still in one place with all those elderly people. They were boring and would only drink tea. This caused him to be prone to injuries.

Wen Jian wasn't god-like the others in the heavens. He was stronger than a regular mortal, yet not to an over worldly degree. If his wounds reached a certain extent, his body would refuse access to his soul.

This caused a special formation to be developed to not have any risks. The downside to it was that it needed strict concentration with at least a ten-minute set up for any sort of effectiveness.

"Get him! We can not go back to master empty-handed!" A voice shouted out, breaking the silence of the forest.

Wen Jian jolted up, rushing to get on his feet. The mending formation long placed at the back of his mind. He had only been transported into this world a few minutes ago! How was it that they found him so fast?

He was so sure that his old man was having some morning tea time.

Sure he was called the grandmaster, but what grandmaster has enough time to keep full tabs on his grandson? It didn't make any sense!

Wen Jian made a mad dash to the thick grassy area of the scenery. It's never good to stay on the path when you're being chased.

"Someone quickly send out a talisman. He's getting away!" It was the same voice as before. It was full of anger and impatience.

Thick branches of leaves stood out as Wen Jian weaved his way across. He could feel the wind tousle through his hair. The blades of grass grazed against his skin.

He could feel some shrubby poke at him. A few thorns in the mix.

But no matter what, Wen Jian couldn't stop running. He didn't even meet anyone yet! If he leaves right now then who knows if his wife is in this world!

"Why did you send out that talisman? You bloody fool! Are you trying to get us all killed?!"

A glowing orb with an orange and red wisp flashed towards Wen Jian! It left a hazy trail behind it, causing the grass and shrubby to burst into flames.

Who did his old man hire to catch him? Where even did he find these people?

The people hired seemed as if they didn't care if they brought him back in one piece. They were brutal and ruthless.

"These bastards still don't know when they should give up," A voice said. "Heh, but it is more fun this way."

A light screen appeared before the glowing orb, causing the orb to be set off. A loud kadoom noise shook through the trees. Anywhere that the orb touched had turned into ashes. The trail that was made by the orb, created a barrier of black flames. The flames stretched to surround it, only spearing the area past the light shield.

"When we get back you better wish it's the sect master who enlists your punishment and not me! Search the area once it clears!" The angry voice sounded more muffled as the last few words faded away.

Wen Jian froze. What was this world? A sudden explosion? Flames that rose in towers?

The orb had created such a contrast between the surrounding. The tall wild grass was turned into a pile of ashes. The trees were bare without any leaves. Some had fallen in half, while most had vanished. The forest scenery had changed into one of a dark mostly flat piece of land.

At least he was saved. He mentally made a note to talk to his grandfather after the dangers of this world. A little orb could do all that damage? It was preposterous! While thinking about the compliant list, Wen Jian failed to notice the man who appeared in front of him.

"Oh? What's this? Someone's still here?"

(I might change this arc up when I'm editing. I'm not too fond of this chapter, but that's okay. There will be a very harsh edit when this is done. This arc will have a different setup than the others. I'm also testing out different writing styles right now)
