Trolls and the Mystery Creature

Chapter 5

     Poppy ran through the village, towards the hospital, as she carried Branch in her arms.

     "They're coming! They're coming!" Dj shouted.
"Everyone hide!" Lagoona said.

     Quickly, everyone got into their hiding spots, as Poppy ran up.

     "Surprise!" they all shouted, jumping out, with their hands in the air.

     Poppy gasped, startled, accidentally dropping Branch. He fell on his face, laying on the ground perfectly still.

     Everyone stood in silence, staring at Branch.

     "Branch!" Poppy finally yelled, remembering what was going on, as she dropped down next to him, flipping him over onto his back.

     "What's wrong with him, y'all?" Holly asked, everyone gathering around Branch.

     "We were attacked!" Poppy yelled. Everyone gasped.
"A Growl Beast?" Smidge asked.
"A Cuddle Pup Mama?" Satin and Chenille asked at the same time.
"No! It was... it was... well... I don't know what it was! But Branch got hurt trying to protect me! He won't wake up!" Poppy cried.

     Gust walked over, checking his pulse.

     "He's alive," he said.
"I need to get him to the hospital!" Poppy said, frantically.
"Move aside! I'm a doctor!"

     Everyone cleared a path, as Dr. Moonbloom walked past them, towards Branch.

     She checked him over, finally looking up at Poppy. "He's done for," she said, dramatically.

     "Oh my gah! You always say that!" Smidge yelled.
"Where did y'all get your medical license?" Holly asked.

     Dr. Moonbloom looked at them, confused.

     "Medical License? What's that?"

     Everyone sighed, slapping their heads.

     "Sorry, Dr. Moonbloom," Poppy said. "But I'd like to get a second opinion. Can you please help me get Branch to the hospital?"
"Certainly," she said nodding.

     Suddenly, she put her fingers in her mouth, making a loud whistling noise.

     An ambulance bug quickly drove up to them, skittering to a stop.

     Several doctors hopped out, running over to help Branch in.

     They loaded him into the ambulance, and then drove off, leaving everyone else behind to watch.

     Poppy watched the ambulance bug drive out of sight, tears in her eyes.

     "Don't worry, sugar," Holly said putting her hand on Poppy's shoulder. "I'm sure he'll be fine."
"I hope you're right..."
