Chapter 22

I quickly got on the plane and got settled down before opening my phone and clicking on the iMessage icon.

Karl <3
I'm sorry Mad, I don't think I can do this anymore. It's nothing you done. The distance is hard and I don't think I can deal with seeing you leave anymore. Thank you for the best months of my life. I love you always.

I quickly shut my phone off and closed my eyes trying to beat the tears threatening to fall. Nick got the window seat, I started down at my lap and let a couple tears fall.

Nick quickly looked over at me when I sniffled my nose and hugged me once he realized I was crying.

"What's wrong Mad" he spoke and cooed into my hair.

"Karl broke up with me" I stuttered out and let the tears freely fall.

"What" he questioned me as I got the messages up and showed him.

Nick turned My phone off and placed it on his table and hugged me tightly.

I cried into his arms and slowly felt myself fall asleep.

Karl's POV

I sat down on the couch and allowed a couple tears to fall from my eyes. It had to be done.

I walked out to the shed and seen all her smoking things left here. I opened the jar and seen one bud left, quickly grinding it up before placing it in the bowl and lighting it.

After I cleared the hit, I hid the stuff away. I sat on the couch for a bit before my phone started ringing.

I answered and heard quietness on the other line knowing exactly who it was.

"Did you do it?" A woman's voice spoke as a tear left my eye once again.

"It's over" I spoke up as she laughed quietly.

"Good, she didn't deserve you" the voice spoke once again and ended the call.

I exhaled sharply and let the tears flow down my face. My hands gripped my hair as I pulled it tightly before letting out a painful yell.

Mads POV

I was shaken awake by Nick, who's face was right above mine with a smile.

"We're landed" he spoke as I stood up quickly and gathered my items. The both of us walked down the airplane hallway before reaching the airport hallway.

We gathered our bags and walked to the doors, looking for Blair.

She pulled up as Nick grabbed my bag from my hand and put it in the trunk. I opened the back seat door and collapsed lid down on the seats. Nick shut the door and got into the passenger seat quickly.

"What's wrong with she?" Blair asked Nick as she pointed towards me.

"Her and Karl broke up" he whispered to her which I could still hear.

"Want ice cream?" She looked back at me as I sat up with my tear stained face and nodded quickly.

"Girls always want ice cream after a break up" she looked at Nick before driving off.

The two up front had their conversation as I went through my phone looking at pictures of us.

My fingers went to the iMessage icon once again and clicked on it seeing Karl's message pop up.

My fingers typed and quickly send a message to him.

'Why, what did I do wrong? I thought we was okay. A couple days ago we was talking about moving in together.'

The responding bubble came up as I stared at it bounce up and down before I seen text come through.

'I'm so sorry Mad, this is how it got to play through'

Short and simple. He just didn't want me anymore, and I had to come to terms with that.

We quickly pulled into the ice cream shop, getting out of the car and walking to the doors.

"Hey what can I get for you guys today?" The worker spoke and looked at us before she gasped.

"I'm sorry but can I get a picture with you guys?" She questioned as me and Nick looked at each other and nodded. She can from behind the counter and gave Blair her phone who offered to take the picture.

She got in the middle as me and Nick wrapped our arms around her body and smiled.

I hope this photo don't get to social media, my face was tear stained, my mascara was smudged. I looked pale and sick.

She hugged both of us and thanked us before taking our orders.

Blair ordered her moon mist, nick ordered a simple chocolate and I ordered chocolate chip cookie dough.

She said bye cheerfully once more before the three of us left for the car once again. We stayed parked and ate our ice cream.

"Thank you" I spoke up as Blair looked back at me and winked.

"Lots more fish in the sea" she spoke up and nick nodded.

"He done it in a pussy way" Nick spoke up as Blair agreed with him.

I started to feel a little better, and got engaged in the conversation. After the ice cream we went home.

I unpacked my bag and tossed the dirty clothes in the hamper before hanging my sweaters up.

I opened my closet doors and moved the sweaters around trying to find a hanger. Once I did, I hung up the remaining hoodies.

My discord on my phone started to ding as I ignored it and turned on my pc to see who was calling.

Karl Jacobs invited you to 'VC 1'

I quickly ignored it and decided to take a shower. Once I got out my discord was still ringing.

My fingers clicked on voice chat 1 and I seen it was just Karl in there.

I placed my headphones on my head and listened to Karl's breathe.

"Hey" I spoke quietly trying to hold back the tears.

"I ain't got much time but I have to explain to you why I done it" he spoke quickly and tried to get it out.

"Karl I understand, you fell out of love and that's okay" I spoke quietly and heard his hesitate.

"No Mad never, just listen to me please" he begged me as I stayed in call and hummed before he started talking.
