Harry's P.O.V.

The game was awesome! I can't believe that Krum was able to get Lynch to fall for the Wronski Feint not once, but twice! And then the twins prediction proved true, Krum caught the Snitch, but Ireland still won!

Then there was that mascot brawl! The Leprechauns vs the Veela, that was funny, in a scary way. Mr. Weasley was right about one thing though, those Veela were prime examples why you should never go for beauty alone. Unlike Daphne who has both brains and beauty.

Ah, Daphne, she is so perfect, I just wish we didn't have to pretend not to know each other in public.

I sigh as I walk to bed, hoping that my dreams are the more pleasant ones. Of course those ones always star Daphne in some form or fashion.

...................

I was startled awake by shouting and explosions. I quickly grabbed my wand and strapped the holster it was in to my forearm. After that I mentally thanking Daphne for the millionth time getting this for me and drilling it in my head and muscle memory to strap it on in a few seconds. I quickly ran out into the chaos outside.

There was a bunch of, terrorist is the only thing I could think of to call them. They were dueling the few Ministry Aurors that was at the game. The majority was attacking the muggles and children, those sick-fucks. Ron and Hermione dragged me through to the woods where we briefly encountered Malfoy.

Then there was the whole thing with the so-called Dark Mark being shot into the sky. Mr. Crouch, who's Percy's boss, freed his elf for being found with Ron's wand. They tested the wand to see the Dark Mark was indeed cast by it, but Ron only noticed it missing as we entered the woods. Winky, the elf, was distraught at being freed. I remembered Winky was seated directly behind us, too scared to look around, due to her fear of heights.

Though, finally, we got back to the Burrow and I snuck out to Mr. Weasley's shed as Mrs. Weasley was crying herself hoarse in relief as the paper announced the attack on the World Cup.

"Dobby!" I called out.

"Yes, Master Harry?" My elf asked happily.

"I now have a solution to your lack of sleep following my orders," I told him.

"Yous do Master Harry?! Nots that I's nots following orders, but Dobby has been tired," he said excitedly.

"Yes, I just witnessed an elf named Winky get freed by her Master. I feel that there was no good reason to do that and wish to offer her a chance to bond with me," I told him.

"Poors Winky," Dobby said a little sadly before perking up a bit. "Dobby will go brings Winky to Master Harry straight away!"

With that he popped away as I quickly pulled out the letter I wrote to Daphne while we waited to get a portkey back. I may have to add a postscript. As soon as I got the parchment and quill out Dobby popped back with Winky in tow.

"What does Harry Potter want with Winky?" Winky asked with suspicion clear in her puffy red eyes.

"I just want to offer you a chance to bond with me, like Dobby is," I told her honestly. "I don't agree with how you were dismissed by your previous Master, not saying he's not a great wizard, just that he made a mistake that he'd not be willing to rectify."
