Dai Aunty had completed her chores. I handed her gratuity, she was reluctant, however, I convinced her. She was happy and blessed me. She asked, “Sir. I don’t mean to ask, but I am a bit curious. Why have you selected this house??” I replied, “I found this house unique, and I won’t be disturbed and do my work.” Dai Aunty said, “I hope, Sunita Madam had told you about the house.” I bit my lower lips, nodding my head, I replied, “Yes… But what makes this house strange?”
Dai Aunty talked about the house. This house once belonged to a landlord during British-Era. He was unjust and collected exorbitant taxes from the farmers. When the country was stormed by revolution in the late 1940s. The farmers decided to revolt, and they stormed the house. They killed the landlord, and his body was tattered with wounds. People say that his body was morphed horribly. As it was an atmosphere of revolution, so the Police didn’t arrest anyone thus supporting the farmers.
The house was vacant since years, it was twenty years ago that this house was reinstated. This house was rented to three families, but they left the house without caring about the advances paid by them, and now the house is lying empty. As I heard from her, I had an epiphany and remembered my previous experience. However, I liked this house, so I would stay here. Dai Aunty left for the day. The driver, Mr. Ravi comes in. He says, “Sir, the sedan is ready for you.” I acknowledged him.
Mr. Ravi was a humble guy, he has a wife and two children, he has admitted his children in a reputed school. I know Mr. Ravi since years. He always conversed that, I didn’t have the opportunity to learn, but I want my children to excel in their fields, whichever they choose. I carried the official files and my personal file, where I kept the records of the work executed by me.
The sedan rolled on the roads, I saw the farm belonged to, Sunita. She told me that she had huge farms. As the sedan moved, I saw there were cereals, wheat, cracked wheat and bran, which belonged to Sunita’s field. Later there were fields of maize, pearl millets, sorghum, buckwheat and water chestnuts, sesame, mustard and flax seeds. The area had an excellent fertile land.
As we moved further, there were fields of pulses, legumes, whole black grams, green grams, yellow pigeon peas, whole brown lentils, red lentils, Horse grams, moth or dew beans, black eyed peas, white chickpeas, black chick peas, split chickpeas, green chickpeas and kidney beans.
This town had a large fields, and the road was passing through it. Albeit how we advanced in the field of science and technology, but the field of agriculture would always be at the prime. We reached the factory.
The factory building was huge, and it was a one-storey structure. Its walls were crimson, it didn’t have any gates, so it was hassle free to enter the premises of the factory. There was a security cabin, where the guards resided. I saw two tall guards same out of the cabin. They enquired about us. I produced my identity card, they greeted me and guided me to reception. They took a note of me at the reception, and they housed me in a big lounge. They offered me soft drinks, and I thanked them. In few minutes, the factory officials come in, they greeted me, and then we began the official procedures.
I was checking their daily productions, accounts and other official documents. I was given a cabin to do work, I scanned all the documents, and send it to my bank. They approved all the documents; however, I need to do more work. The factory officials arranged the snacks and lunch for me. I thanked them for the gesture.
