I returned to the house. Mr. Ravi was given another house to stay. Staff from our bank had visited here, and they were from other branches. however, from our branch, I was the one to visit this house. I was strolling around the house, Sunita comes out of the house, Sunita ask, "How was the day?" I replied, "Yep, it was fine." Sunita said, "I had a word with Torrie, some moments ago, and I have arranged the dinner for you. Dai Aunty is arranging the dinner at the table." I remarked, "Thanks Sister for the gesture."

She laughs off and said, "My hubby was supposed to come today, but he will come tomorrow or after a day." I conversed, "I would be happy to meet your husband." She smiled and bid good night to me. I went inside the house. Dai Aunty was arranging dinner for me, and she left bidding me good night. I refreshed myself. This house will give all the solitude I want. The fire was burning in the old hearth, and the great oak dining-table was filled with scrumptious dishes. I admit, Sunita and Dai Aunty had laden the table with choicest viands. Courtesy to my sister Sunita and Dai Aunty. I called Torrie before going for eating, they had completed the supper.

After finishing the supper, I did my dishes as I didn't want to put all the burden on Dai Aunty. I sat on the table, I did my official work, as I have a habit of noting all the work down in my file. After the ten minutes work. I grabbed the book from the portmanteau to sat down reading. The source of light was emitting from the chandelier. I don't switch on the light everywhere, you know, you ought to conserve electricity. All the sudden the lights went off, I remembered Sunita told me about the load shedding issues. However, the fire from the old hearth emitted lights. The leaping file, sparkled, and threw quaint shadows over the wall. I lighted the emergency lantern over the table and resumed reading books. It was fifteen minutes past nine. I could hear the faint noises of gnawing, perhaps it would be rat, but Sunita told me that there are no rats in the house. I guess it would be wind hitting against the weakest section of the house.

The noise was ceased, and again it resumed, it was faint or a bit loud. I completed some chapters in the book and decided to inspect the house.

I carried the lantern in the hand and inspected the house. "The beautiful house has been neglected for long, there should've been some inflation in the price of the house." I conversed. As I went ahead, I saw old pictures hanging on the walls, however, it was covered with thick dust so I couldn't examine the details. The pictures are not so worthy, so Dai Aunty didn't bother to clean it. As I went near the hearth, I noticed a high-backed carved oak chair, I took the pleasure to sit on it.

The chair was of utmost comfort, the fire began to descend, I grabbed the poker, and push the woods to feed the fire. The fire grew brighter, and later I went to the table to read books. I wasn't good in my academics, and sometimes, I hate reading. However, during those days, I had a tad interest in reading good books. Now after entering in professional life, I devoted spare time to read good books, and this would refresh me. I was lost in the world of books, after a while, I felt like the chair near the hearth is occupied, I looked at the chair but there was none.

I stared at the chair, it seemed for a while, the arms of the chair were pressed, as someone is resting its hands on it. I checked around and looked at the wall opposite to the hearth. For a moment or a half, I felt like someone was sitting on the chair, I glared at the shadow, I turned towards the chair, but there was no one. I jerked my head, looking at the wall, the shadows of the chair were fluttering on the walls. I laughed and whispered, "I need a good night sleep." I looked at the watch, it was 22:35 hours. I went to bed.
