I looked at my watch, seeing as I only had an hour till my flight, I literally sprinted from the kitchen table to my bedroom to get ready. I put my hair out of the messy bun I did while packing up and got my straighteners out of my drawer and started going over my hair a few times. It didn't take me long so I was okay. I looked at my watch again and I had 45 minutes left. So I put a layer of foundation on and a bit of mascara on and got my suitcases and went out of the room.
'Oh my fudgesticks' I said out loud, realizing I forgot my straighteners. So, I quickly went in my room and put the straighteners in my handbag not caring if the bag was too heavy... For the last time for the next few years, I looked at my childhood home and went out of the doors, making sure that I locked it.
I was determined not to cry. The taxi driver was already waiting for me in his yellow taxi. I went inside and sat at the back. After 15 minutes of awkwardness... My phone vibrated. I took it out and saw a text message, it was from my so called 'best friend' who would judge me 24/7. She hadn't even comforted me about the death of my parents. I sighed, and clicked read. 'Hey Kinsley, I hope you have a great time and I will miss you!(:' I text back immediately back saying 'thanks, I will miss you too.' She hadn't even bothered to have a goodbye meeting with me. My phone vibrated again I looked at it and it was now from an anonymous number now I pressed read again. The message said 'Hey love, I hope you have a good flight, I can't wait to see you. love Louis xo' Who was Louis? and why was he anonymous if he was going to tell me his name at the end of the text message? Weird. Maybe he didn't want me to know his number... Maybe... I tried to text him back but my phone won't let me send it because he's anonymous number. Ughh who is this? Why wou- 'We're here' the taxi driver said. 'O-okay' I said giving him £38 for the ride.
I stepped out of the car as I said thanks to the driver and walked into the airport, after getting scanned by zillions of scanners and getting checked for my passport and everything I finally got in my aeroplane. I sat on my seat which was 14B by the window -just how I wanted it to be. Now I was just hoping that nobody else would sit next to me... But obviously, someone had to it by me just the opposite I wanted it to be. It was a guy in his early twenties with layered hair and huge biceps... He was actually quite cute... He smiled at me as he sat down. He placed his bags at the bottom of his seat.
The plane was taking so long to fly or maybe it's just how it felt like because I was so bored... 'This is taking so long' I said with a sigh. 'I know right' he agreed. 'I am Kinsley' I said giving him my hand to shake. 'Austin' he nodded shaking my hand.
We were talking... Talking about why we were going to England... He said he was in Cali for a vacation. I told him why I was going there and he said he knew how I felt like and he was sorry. He was nice and I liked him (as a friend). Before we were landing he handed me a paper with his number in. I took it and gave him mine too.
When we got out of the plane, I felt dizzy and a relief at the same time due to my ears. I went in the airport... I was waiting to get my suitcases from the machine that goes around with tons of suitcases for people to pick up. After a few minutes I saw my suitcase coming. I picked it up and walked to the gates.
And there... I saw my auntie Clarke. She was in her early thirties.. looking quite nice in her yellow flowery dress. She was so skinny. I wish I looked like her... Her hair was down and it was brown. She had a full fringe which made her eyes look more obvious. 'Hi Kinsley' she said, she had such a jolly voice, I liked it. 'Hello Aunt Clarke' I replied nervously. 'How are you doing? How was the flight?' 'It was tiring and I am good thanks' I said with a smile.
I looked around... London smelt cosy... 'Let's go outside of this airport...' and we walked out. O-EM-GEE. It was pouring rain and I had no coat on... I wasn't used to this... Erghh. 'Let's get in the car quickly, it's freezing out here' she said. Thank Godness. I don't think I could've survived if I was out there for one more second. We got into her red mini car. It was small but adorable. I loved it. 'I like your car' I said smiling. She nodded and smiled and drove us to her, okay OUR home...
It was a silent ride... We didn't talk but there was music in the background and I was mumbling to it all the way through... 'We're nearly there' she said. 'Okay' I replied awkwardly. 30 seconds later we were by the house and let me tell you this it looked absolutely GORGEOUS on the outside, I wonder how it looked inside... It had 2 stairs I guess? It was painted in a orangey coral colour and I loved it. We got through the gates which was jet black but still posh. After a few steps straight, we were by the outside door. It was an ordinary door but still posh... I don't understand this...
We got inside... I froze... It looked so nice. 'So.. Kinsley, this is where you will be staying' she said showing me my bedroom... It was quite big, the walls were painted in pink, there was a double sized bed in the middle of the room leaning into the left wall if you look at the room by the doors and there was lots of cushions, it looked cute. 'I-I love this Aunt Clarke' I said. Before I knew it, I was hugging her. At first it was only me hugging her but after a few seconds she put her arms around my back, it was as if my mum was hugging me. It felt warm...
