CATS POV:
I stretch my arms out and step into the floor. I groan. The mattress was so comfortable and it took me about 10 minutes to pluck up enough energy to get out of it.

I didn't have the nightmare last nights, thank goodness. I have a feeling Kyle would've heard me. My feet stick to the ground as I walk towards the bathroom.

The smell of bacon wafts up the stairs and I inhale it. Just as I reach the door of the bathroom, Kyle appears next to me and we both want to get in at the same time.

"Excuse me," I mutter, pushing past him.

I step back when he doesn't let me pass. He steps right and I step right, he steps left and I step left.

We do the whole awkward right-left thing about three more times before he asks to pass.

I laugh quietly, "But I want a shower."

"Ah, well I want one too."

"You're just going to have to wait."

"It's my house."

"I'm the guest. Show a bit of chivalry"

He breathes in deeply and on the breath out he says, "okay."

At least he knows his manners.
As I strip off, I realise I'm still grinning.

"It's okay, Mrs Lovado." I assure her as she holds my bleeding finger between her two hands.
She shakes her head, "Kyle! Get me a bandaid, please!"

He yells back some reply.

"Oh dear! So much blood!", I watch her as she runs around in panic, wondering what to do.

Kyle comes running downstairs with a first-aid kit. I look down at my finger; I sliced it while I was helping Alice with dinner.

Deep cut but not life-threatening and so I'm confused about the amount of stress Alice is putting on the situation.

I pat her on the shoulder with my non injured hand and tell her I'm fine. Yet she still fumbles through the kit searching for a bandaid and muttering gruff words about teenage boys and how they can't do what they're told.

She finally finds a bandage about the size of my forearm and decides that will do. I study her face and am concerned. She looks utterly ill. Pale face and looking like she's about to be sick.

I figure out she must be afraid of blood just as Kyle offers his hand to her.

"Mom, I'll do it."
He takes the bandage out of her hand and she sits down, relieved.

Kyle's hand grasps mine, surprisingly gently, sending electric shocks up my arm. I look at his concentrated eyes and my heart melts.

How can one be so handsome?

He looks tired though and small dark circles emphasise the colour of his eyes.

My finger's numb by the time he's finished wrapping it.
"Keep the pressure on it." He says as he pushes himself up.
"Thanks." I say with an appreciative nod.

Alice sighs and gets up out of the chair. She moves to the bench and chucks out
the vegetables that supposedly have blood on them.

After she finishes the rest of the vegetables, she perches on the edge of the dining table. Kyle sits at the far end of the kitchen, leaning slightly over to catch a little bit of Orange Is The New Black on the flat screen TV.

Alice clears her throat, "Kyle, I need to talk to you. Both of you." She says and Kyle moves his stool over next to me reluctantly.

"What's up, mom?" Kyle says.
