1 August 2021

The rain poured down on the girl as she ran holding her bag up. She glanced around the dimly lit street, looking for a place to take cover from the unforgiving downpour. Unfortunately for her, she decided to leave at a time when most shops were closed for the day.

She noticed a listed shop a few blocks down. A small rustic cafe she didn't even know exist. She sighed. I guess it wouldn't hurt to stay there until the rain passes. Or so she thought.

As she walked in the smell of brewed coffee with a mix of freshly baked pastry and a hint of cinnamon. Wait, cinnamon? She scanned the seemly empty cafe, eyes landing on a boy. He looked no older than she was. 20? 21? He was young that's for sure. His black cottony hair fell effortlessly over his forehead. It was just the right length.

His features looked sharp as if someone took time and effort to carefully mold him. Nothing short of perfect. He noticed she was staring and looked at her. She quickly tore her eyes from him and walked to the counter.

"Green tea please." She told the cashier with a smile. After paying and getting the warm cup of tea she ordered. Sitting down at the far corner of the cafe, she stuck her earphones in and pulled out a small book.

"What are you reading?" a voice asked. She looked up to see the same boy she saw earlier looking down curiously at her. His eyes sparkling like a million stars.

"Pardon?" she said pulling out her earphones. She didn't know why he was talking to her but she couldn't seem to leave him hanging.

He chuckled lightly. "I said, what are you reading?"

"Poems, love poems." She watched him take a seat in front of her. Clearly noticing she was a tad bit uncomfortable a gave a warm smile. One that she couldn't help but reciprocate but smaller.

"Let's not stay strangers hmm? I'm Jaemin, Na Jaemin," he said holding out his hand.

She couldn't help but take it and reply.

"Wooyeon, Ahn Wooyeon."
