They were doomed.
So doomed.
The two boys caught everyone in the whole ballroom's eye. They were being stared at while holding hands, being the same gender. Exactly what the prince's father strictly forbid. The prince and the servant couldn't imagine what would happen to them now. They would both be punished, obviously, but they worried how.

The boys glanced around the large room and then looked at each other again. When it finally hit them that they were still holding hands, they quickly pulled away. The servant ran as fast as he could to the kitchen, and the prince to the throne.

"Continue the music." The prince shouted over to the band.
"Are you sure you wouldn't like to sing for us, your highness?" The musicians teased.

"CONTINUE THE MUSIC!" He yelled louder. The prince was clearly embarrassed and scared, as he should be, for he glanced up at the indoor balcony and saw his father glaring at him. The king had a face of such anger. He just saw, with his very own eyes, his own son dancing with a man. Dancing with a servant! Holding hands with a servant... that is a man!

The prince took back all that he thought while he was dancing with the servant. He did worry what his father would do to him, he did care what he thought. Ever since he was a child he always wished to have his own throne one day and customize it however he wants. Now, now that he is in love with a man, the prince knows that won't happen. He could be the king of his own kingdom, sure, but not this one. Not while his father is around.

The king shouted "END THE BALL. END IT! NOW!" and all of the women, all of the men, all of the people rushed into the dining room. The prince's father stormed down the twisted staircase and panic came over the boy. He clenched his fists. The prince was ready for anything, and the servant wanted to be with him when it happened. So, he stayed. The servant stayed by the prince's side, just how he wished it would be forever.  The king arrived downstairs. He stood there like a statue and stared at the two boys. "Christian..." The angry king whispered. "I did not raise you like this. I DID NOT RAISE YOU TO DO SUCH UNHOLY THINGS!" His whisper evolved to a shout. The prince, or Christian, was shivering at this point. "I'm sorry father." He stuttered.

"No apology will ever let me forgive you. God won't forgive you, Christian. If you are in love with this... man," The king paused. Saying those words almost hurt him. "Then so be it. I am stripping you of all your privileges and you are moving out of the castle straight away, and YOU! You, William, your fired. Start packing, the both of you. I hope Edward will be happy when he hears that he will be the next king."

The prince was in shock. He just got kicked out of what he hoped to be his very own castle. Christian plopped onto his throne. No, the throne. He leaned onto the arm of the chair and looked at the wall. If he was going to cry, he didn't want William to see him. He was partly mad at himself. All of this wouldn't have happened if he didn't go and listen to what William was singing. But at the same time, it was all worth it. Christian was starting to feel more confident. The prince and the servant would surely figure something out, right?

Author's note: Yes, the prince's name is Christian and yes, the servants name is William. Oh also yes, the king is Christian too. (The religion.)

I'd just like to say that I don't mean any hate to people who are Christian. The king is one of those christian people that are like "gay bad and unholy ehehehehshefshfbs" and he doesn't respect his son. I just wanted to have some sort of antagonist in the story. Also, whoever's reading this, should I post 2 chapters a day, 3 chapters a day, or 4 chapters a day? Let me know what you think!
