I was sitting in my living room waiting for JJ to get home, she'd been away on a case for almost a week and I wanted to surprise her with dinner and a movie marathon.

I was finishing dinner when I heard the front door open, I looked up to see my beautiful, blonde haired, girlfriend walk through the door. I ran to give her a hug and take her bag.

"Baby, I'm so glad you're home," I said throwing my arms around her shoulder.
"Me too," she said with a slight chuckle wrapping her arms around my waist, and leaned down to bury her face in my (y/h/c) hair.

I pulled away slightly to give her a kiss on the lips while simultaneously taking the bag from her hands,
"So how was the case?" I asked walking towards the kitchen, her face changing from her usual smile to a frown,
"It wasn't the best." She sighed taking off her jacket and putting her gun and badge on the table and sitting down.

"I'm sorry to hear that," I said bringing over our plates and planting a kiss on top of her head, with that action her frown turned into a soft smile,
"Babe, you didn't have to make dinner." She said with a smile,
"I know, but I wanted to. I wanted to do something nice for you, you work so hard all day and I thought you might like it." I said smiling at her,
"I do like it, thank you, love." She said, we made small talk over dinner and I noticed every time she'd mention the case her expression would change, and then she'd change the subject.

I could tell it was bothering her, and I needed to make sure she was okay so after dinner I asked her about it.
"Hey, babe" I asked from the kitchen putting our dirty dishes in the sink to take care of tomorrow.
"Yes," she answered still sitting at the table, I walked over to her and stood between her legs and cupped her face in my hands,
"Are you sure you're okay? Every time you mention the case you get upset and change the subject. I just wanna make sure you're alright," I said kissing her forehead, and in this light I finally noticed the shiner right under her right eye. She looked up me from her seat with her arms around my waist and said,
"I'm- I'm not feeling too hot right now," she said, her eyes beginning to tear up and her voice breaking slightly.

I wrapped my arms around her tightly and pulled her head to my chest, we stood like this for awhile and every so often I'd hear her sniffle or her arms would pull me closer. I laced my fingers through her hair and refused to let her go until she stopped crying. A long hug and a couple kisses later she had calmed down,
"Do you want to talk about," I asked once again holding her face.

"No, I just need you to hold me right now," she said her voice still a bit shakey, I nodded and kissed her again,
"Well, I do have something if you'd like to take your mind off of it." I said brushing her hair behind her ear,
"Yeah, and what's that," she asked smiling up at me.
"I was thinking Harry Potter marathon if you're up for it," I said, she let out a low chuckle then took my hands in hers,
"That sounds quite nice," she said standing up still holding one of my hands, we walked over to the couch and I queued up the first movie and JJ put her head in my lap.

I started playing with her hair and within 20 minutes she was asleep and lightly snoring,
"God you're beautiful," I whispered looking down at the sleeping beauty in front of me. After another 10 minutes I fell asleep with a small smile on my face.
