When the man that had been bothering you the whole night drunkenly came back for another round of trying to flirt with you, you finally snapped. You just couldn't take it any more.... Or, well, you didn't want to continue having to deal with him. You just weren't in the mood. You had tried to be nice about it at first, you really had.

Turning towards him as a colourful row of expletives worthy of the worst pirates abandoned your lips, you grabbed a fist full of his hair and, with as much strength as you had in you, you slammed his head against the wooden bar of the inn.

And, with that, the lively and chaotic atmosphere that had until there filled the place died at once. You could feel the eyes of all the strangers drilling holes in the back of your head, and you didn't like that at all. More often than not, you were the type of person that loved to go unnoticed, that delighted themselves in taking in the details from the peacefulness of the shadows.

When you turned around to lash out if necessary at any poor soul you crossed gazes with, you noticed that even your captain, who was usually more than delighted when someone pushed your buttons long enough for you to lose your cool, had been extremely taken aback by your actions. With a sudden uneasiness that made you question every decision you had made that night, you finally let go of the man's head and quickly returned to your seat against the counter. Then, and with a fake interest in the label of the beer you had just recovered from the thick wooden plank, you tried to ignore how the pirate's body slumped to the floor right next to you.

You weren't usually a violent person, honestly, but that had probably been one of the worst days of your life. Nothing had turned out as planned.

First thing in the morning, you had tried to help the crew hoist the sail, but the cloth had got caught who knows where and had torn slightly, so you had spent the next couple of hours sewing it under the scorching sun. Then, Kid had told you to go and check the first-aid kit to see what you needed to buy later that day when you docked. And everything had been completely fine until you had tripped and thrown the whole content of the box to the floor, having to spend a stressing amount of time trying to save what could be saved and cleaning the mess.

Those were just two of the things that had happened that day. The list was long, and you couldn't understand what was going on. You had never been clumsy, and generally knew what you were doing, and you weren't about to blame it all on bad luck.

So, the drunk pirate that had come to bother you had been the straw that broke the camel's back, and you had taken all your bottled up anger out on him. Now, somehow cooling off after the incident, you even felt slightly bad for the man. Slightly.

You could still feel some eyes on you, and you cast a glance to the side with a raised eyebrow just to find both Killer and Kid staring at you from their table. The assassin didn't move at all, safe under the protection of his mask and the knowledge that you wouldn't start something with him —the same way he knew not to start something with you—, but Kid's face slowly lit up, a cheerful grin plastering on his lips before his laugh soon filled the air.

And that seemed to be what had been needed for the noise to slowly but steadily come back to the once silent tavern, the rest of the people finally returning their attention to whatever they had been doing previously.

Your captain stood up and made his way to you with almost defiant nonchalance, and you followed him from the corner of your eye until he was right next to you. No matter how calm or peaceful he appeared to be, he was a walking ticking bomb, and you were honestly never completely sure of his next step until it was too late and it was blowing in your face.
